Now that Qpr & Reading are relegated,is there anyone from these teams who
you would like to see at the Cottage,
Remy from the Rangers & la Fondre from Reading and maybe their goalkeeper.

I feel for the club and it's proper supporters. But the few who were on here in pre-season, crowing like they'd won the Champions League (because they'd signed Park Ji Sung) and coming out with things like "two clubs moving in different directions" (comparison between us and them) - yes, Northolt being the worst - I take great pleasure in how ****ing stupid you look now <laugh>

Wonder which road they will go down ?
    1. Keep their expensive players in the hope they will take them right back up at the first attempt, then they may have the players in place for another crack at the Premier.
    2. Sell them off and get as much of them off the wages as possible, and hope they can recruit the type of players who have the fight in them they will need to get to the play-offs.

I guess the Ramblings of Mr Ambition (I'll never have QPR in this position again) and the money of the Mittal & Fernandes (European Football for the Premiers New Mega Rich Club) had them crowing they would take the Premier by storm this season. A case of Delusions of Grandeur.
I doubt whether some of them have learnt the lesson, if they get back they'll start crowing again.
We just have to be thankful that MAF (after his Man United of the South) saw sense and has built us gradually.

Honestly, I've seen nothing from the expensive QPR team this season that shows me that keeping them together would help them take the Championship by storm. Hughes followed the Warnock model of signing over the hill players with Premier League experience. They were better players (compare Nelson with Ferdinand), but still not good enough. Add in a few horrendously overpriced players (Granero at £9m and Samba at £12m) and you see the situation they got into. They need to start again and the fans know that. Not sure whether Tony and 'arry do though...

As for players we'd have, Remy looks good; he's selfish though, so not sure you could have him and Berba in the same team. No one else I'd want here.

Reading just weren't good enough. That happens sometimes when you come up off the back of a great run of games in the Campionship. Like QPR, Reading were not ready to compete in the Premier League. There's no-one I'd want from that team.

To be fair to Mark Hughes, when QPR survived by others' efforts on the last day of the season, he said the club would never be in that position again, and they aren't. This time they didn't even get close to surviving until the last day!

I think the likes of Remy and Samba will go, both probably have some sort of release clauses in their contract.

From the Reading team I like the look of Jobi McAnuff, but that's about it.

Another interesting stat is that 'Arry has the lowest win percentage out of him, Warnock and Mr Ambition.

I'd be surprised if Samba didn't go back to Russia, honestly.

Remy may end up at a team like Spurs. Can't see him at the traditional big four teams.

Would Remy and Berbatov work in the same team? I can see Spurs going for Benteke rather than remy, although the latter will be much cheaper due to his relegation clause. No way will Samba go back to Russia due to all the racial abuse he got over there, and 'apparently' took a cut in wages to sign for QPR just so he could come back to England, so can see him staying in the PL, with maybe Liverpool looking to replace the retiring Carragher, and Skrtel incredibly inconsistent, maybe he could end up there?

I with you Bidley. There is a part of me that feels for the supporters. Unfortunately a few "Noisy Neighbours" forgot where they'd come from.
It's going to be a hard slog for them in a tough Championship league with quite a number of clubs better prepared to chase promotion next season.

    Anyway, C O Y W !!!!

Out of the last 30 relegated teams from the PL, only 7 have been promoted back at the first time of asking.

Ruiz is never going to live up to his purchase price tag,

I see that we have been linked with the Reading goalie Alex McCarthy touted at £4M.

Looking at his credentials he appears very similar to Stockdale. Recently done well, particularly last week against Liverpool. I hope he doesn't impress Saturday, I really want three points.

Early days, I suspect we will be linked to loads before too long.

As for QPR, glad to see them down.

Especially when they have to take out a loan to pay the wages for the rest of the season:

"QPR secure bank loan for first time during reign of Tony Fernandes

    • Relegation club finalise £15m loan
    • All parties insist they 'remain wholly committed"

    Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/16/qpr-bank-loan-tony-fernandes

And me - especially when I saw all those smiles on QPR player's faces and 'Arry's at the end of yesterday's game.

I thought their loan was to do with the new training ground complex they are building? Either way, a mega rich Chairman taking out a £15m loan does not sound good, any way you put it.

Yeah, I don't believe the loan is to pay wages - they aren't financially stricken yet but very soon might be. I don't think they were bright enough to insert many relegation release clauses into contracts, although I guess the big earners like Samba & Remy have got them as the situation looked dicey when they joined so they would have been fools not to put them in.

Not entirely sure what this means though - can the players just walk away and everyone is happy or will QPR have to pay them a whopping sum to settle up their contracts? If so, I can imagine those two would have huge payments owing - quite possibly £15m, so maybe that's where it is going to go. Who knows, just glad it's not us.

Yeah, for a school playing field in Northolt. And even referred to it as their "Elite" Training Complex. Well that was one story.

In another Tony was banging on that it was for the new stadium -

"Tony Fernandes, the Queens Park Rangers chairman, is adamant that a £15 million bank loan will go towards a new stadium rather than covering the cost of player wages"

    Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/10001410/Queens-Park-Rangers-chairman-Tony-Fernandes-will-use-loan-to-finance-new-stadium.html

Allegedly the new ground will be at the Lynford Christie Stadium (which Hammersmith & Fulham Council are desperate to re-develop) -

It always struck me as strange that a club that regularly cannot fill an 18K stadium, are looking to build a new one in an area so vastly populated with competition. It will be like Wales playing at the Millennium Stadium.

I think - and I'm happy to be corrected - that relegation clauses usually operate on one or both of the following models:
    1) in the event of getting relegated, the player is guaranteed to be allowed a transfer to any club who meet the fee stipulated in the clause
    2) in the event of getting relegated, the player's wage drops to a pre-determined lower amount

Obviously, model 1 is in the player's interest, model 2 is in the club's. If QPR haven't got any of the wage drops written in to the contracts, they might find it very hard to clear out the dead wood.
