No, I think the best way to play counter attack is passing the ball on the floor. Those players are admittedly probably not good enough to do that, but thats why I say that with youth football results are not the important thing. If those Murphy lads learned to pass the ball as well as do the things they do then they will end up better players. The important thing is that those players who we think might make it are made as good as possible. To counter that argument you could say that playing more direct gives them more opportunity on the ball. Personally though, its the passing, touch and technique that is paramount
I think the Murphys might make it, I don't rate Morris however, he's just big for his age. I'd say the left back Wyatt probably has the best chance. Even the Murphys had none of the technique some of the Chelsea players had. Its understandable because Chelsea has spent a lot of money on youth development and they've had a rich target area to pick from.
That "new Xavi" who Chelsea brought on might have looked about twelve and was a bit lightweight, but my god was he good on the ball
Well done to the youth again tonight but I don't think any of the youth players will make it at the top level. I do I hope I am wrong. Championship and League 1 careers could be on the horizon though for many. On a more positive note I just watched the Villa goals and feel certain our defence would only of conceded the 1. So its a 1-0 Villa win on Saturday for me.
I think to get the most out of the biggest talents (the Murphys) we have to play with pace. I think we counter attacked in a variety of ways, that's why I liked it. We did pass nicely at times and played the Murphy twins through as well as playing diagonal balls to the wingers. Also disagree on Morris, technically he is good. Holds the ball up brilliantly and has a couple of tricks up his sleeve, he needs to work on his passing but I think with that he'll be the sort of forward who fits into a lot of teams. I think he, Toffolo and the Murphy's are the biggest talents in that team.
I agree with all of this. Unfortunately i didnt see the first half of the match, but from what i saw in the second half (and Nots Forest match) Toffolo looked like a really good prospect. Anyway back to Saturday, i expect Hughton to unleash his masterplan. Having kept Becchio on the sidelines and at home for months like a caged dog being fed scraps, he will start him on saturday and the boy will bang in a first half hat trick!
