Another brilliant programme just started on BBC 4 - World War I from above, just fascinating

 

BBC 4 cancelled an archaeological film that I wanted to watch last week

On Saturday I have a four and a half hour drive to Dunedin to take a one day course. Naturally, when the course is over I have a four and a half hour drive home. Mrs NZ will then go to some Mexican Day of the Dead party and I will settle down to (hopefully) watch the game, which starts at 11.30. It's going to be a long day.

If I remember I will bring my work laptop home so that I can watch us and the other game at the same time.

How times change. When we were going for promotion from Div Three in 1979 I was travelling in the Sudan. I was in the middle of the desert when we played a vital game against Shrewsbury and tried to follow the scores on the World Service. Reception on the short wave was awful and ended up trying to use a railway line as an extended aerial.
