In which case Sessegnon is out for the rest of the season. I can well see Sunderland struggling without him. Stoke and Southampton at home are very nice next features for them though.

That was such an intriguing game, effective counter attacking team vs an effective tika taka football team. The lads at the back were absolutely brilliant and really well organised. The one time they got in was when Cameron Norman tried to step up on Loftus-Cheek.

I think the attacking trio are really good and will get better with age. I know it's premature because they are still young but in that team I think Harry Toffolo and Carlton Morris are most ready to make step up, I just think their really intelligent players. Great penalty wasn't it!!

It's more blind faith than confidence really ! But you've got to clutch on to something ?

I watched the youth team and was so impressed by the way that they didn't alter their attacking ambitions to try and overcome Ted Chelsea superiority in numbers in midfield.
Its a one off game now, just like a cup final with us still in with more than a good chance of going all the way. They know our strengths and noticing their patient build up, I don't think they will alter much or come charging after us.
And well done to the people of the area for turning up and showing what they think of their club.

I've only just seen the Villa result. My word that is a statement leading up to Saturday. It is building up nicely. Come on Chris, now is your chance for near immortality. Unleash the boys and show them we don't give two monkeys about tonight.

    Apparently he isn't, thank God.

A point in our favour is the inconsistency of Villa. They've had good games, and then played dreadfully the next. Fingers crossed that happens again. I'll be very happy with a point at the weekend now though.

Just got in from the U18 first leg. Some resolute defending and a coouple of clearances off the line - but we go there with a 1-0 lead. I hope Holt was watching how to take a penalty with almost the last kick of the game!!!!!
