.. and if it goes to the final match I shall not be there. I came away from Saturday's game with a very tight chest and I think if everything was hanging on the last game I could pop my clogs during the game.

It was much easier when I played and I could handle things but this spectator stuff where you can't influence things but watch helplessly will be the end of me.

Just did a predictor on BBC and if Villa continue this form and Wigan win their games in hand it could be bad news for saints. Will be tricky to any points if we play like we did on unday. I guess Norwich, Newcastle and Sunderland would be more worried than us though...

Wigan needs eight points from four games to merely force us to tally a single point. All of Norwich, Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle will also between 2-3 points. We might not end up far from the drop zone, but we will almost certainly avoid it even if we contrive to lose the final four.

One poor game and some people worry, these people need to get a grip.

we need a maximum of 1 point to secure survival, nothing to worry about really.

Getting worried myself, but still can't see Wigan getting enough points. And one bad performance doesn't mean we can't get a point or three out of the next three games.

I just don't see Wigan catching anyone, they are five points adrift. Yes, they have a game in hand, but as we saw in the Championship last season that does not always mean wins, look at West Ham.

I hope Southampton stop the rot, as a defeat against Spurs could leave us in the mire but I still think we will be ok this season.

I would be much more worried if we were a team from the north-east!

It's not going to happen, it's just not. Wigan are going to have to win three of their final four games to catch us (or two wins and two draws), and those four games include a trip to the Emirates. And then there's the four sides in between us.

As I alluded to on the other thread, if Wigan lose to WBA this weekend (very possible) and Villa avoid defeat to Norwich (very possible), then that could be the end of Wigan there and then.

But, should the worst somehow happen (and even if the next two weeks are awful, we still have the home game vs Stoke to save ourselves), then (as I've also said on the other thread), I will at least have £1,500 coming my way.

Just realised that we are playing Spurs, Sunderland and Stoke and Sunderland are playing Stoke, Southampton and Spurs. Weird symmetry.

bit more nervous after doing the Predictor and I wasn't at all before hand!Even if it does go to the last day I think there will be enough teams behind us to be safe. Would be very worried if i were a Newcastle fan!

This is my nightmare scenario. Our players are such nice boys and they will be bullied by Stoke. If it comes to this and you should see a rather short, plump whiskery old man with a walking stick getting ready to run onto the field and assault the nearest Stoke player then please don't stop me me. My last request is that one of you visits me in Winchester prison to tell me the final result.

A Stoke that need a result would probably bully us yes. This Stoke, thanks to their last two games, we need nothing.

Expect a boring, dour, chanceless 0-0 draw. For which both sides will be grateful.

Technically we are still in there but closer to 10th than 18th :)

For me, Wigan are down and if anything is going to save them it's Sunderland. Di Canio is not a manager. I think he was found out tonight. The players know it and showed it. It will take a bigger man than him to pick them up after tonight's defeat.

Some people need to get a grip. Wigan have got to go to West Brom and Arsenal. Failure to win one of them and we're safe.

Why is everyone worrying because we lost yesterday and Villa won 6-1?

If you look at the upcoming fixtures of teams in relegation battle (up to Stoke) I know people above can go down in theory but some teams still have to play each other to play around us which means teams around us will drop points.

Wigan have Villa (also Arsenal plus a FA Cup against Man City)
Villa have Norwich and Wigan (also Chelsea)
Norwich have Villa (also Man City)
    Newcastle have (Arsenal)
Sunderland have Stoke and Saints (also Spurs)
Saints have Sunderland and Stoke (also Spurs)
Stoke have Sunderland and Saints (also Spurs)

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs still have Champions League place to fight for and also if you take in to consideration goal difference that is another point in itself.

    Stoke GD -10
    Saints GD -10
    Norwich GD -21
    Sunderland GD-12
    Villa GD-22
    Newcastle GD-23
    Wigan GD-23
