The more I think about it the happier I am with the Vikings draft. Got 3 probable starters in the first round, yeah we gave up a lot to get back into the first round and take Patterson, and it turned out that we could've taken Brown with our 2nd round pick as he was still on the board, but the GM wasn't to know that and made a bold move to go and get the guy he wanted. As for the later round picks the only one I didn't like (after doing some research as I hadn't heard of the majority of the players ) was taking a punter in round 5 when there were some players I actually had heard of still on the board. If Michael Mauti can get fit he will be an incredible pick in round 7, but its a big if. Looking at the other teams I think the 49ers may have had the best draft in terms of getting the "name" players and value, but thats hardly surprising given the amount of picks they had. Also really liked what the Bengals did.
Faves with the bookies are the Pats I think, and most people I speak to think the Seahawks are the most likely winners, Niners definitely in with a big shout though imo.
I think the Niners and Seahawks have the strongest rosters now, followed by the Broncos and then I think the Patriots/Packers/Falcons/Texans will be there or there abouts as they have been in the last few years. My dark horse would be the Bucs, their offense was good last year (Before Freeman went on a three game interception spree to close out the season), they've got a nice D-Line (Although they lost Michael Bennett who I really like), a couple of good young linebackers, but the thing that undermined them was their pass defense, which they can now add Darrelle Revis and Dashon Goldson to. I think if Darrelle Revis comes back at 80-90% the player he was, the player he was being the best defensive player in the league for my money, he makes them contenders.
AP to be able to run properly now Vikes have a couple of genuine wide receivers so other teams can't just stack the box on defence against us. If he stays fit I think he will break the rushing record this year, leading the Vikes to a Superbowl aswell
Boring picks for the Buc's. Not surprised they went for a corner first Johnathan Banks, but why trade up for a running back when you have the muscle hampster?
Because it's not a good idea to have an every-down back in today's NFL. Doesn't work. Unless your name is Adrian Peterson.
Tom Wort has been waived by the Titans, having been picked up as an undrafted free agent. Apparently because of medical reasons.
