In an effort to erase this season from our collective consciousness, even though there are still three games to go, and now that we know who our manager is and that he can keep any players he can persuade to stay, what are your expectations for next season? I know little about the Championship, other than I hate it, and that Harold thinks it's 'very, very, difficult" to get out of. Based on this automatic promotion is my minimum expectation, as champions will be adequate. Actually this is not an expectation but a requirement, as recompense for the crap this team has put us through. Let's have lots of similar expectations to enrage Swords.
What worries me is that many will measure us against Warnock's title-winning team, so if we don't get off to a flier the pressure will be on straight away. To be honest I'll be happy if we make the play-offs, we are a poor, poor side at present and there are much better teams who won't go up this season, just don't kid yourselves it will all come good just like that...
1 in every 5 relegated teams do it and its your minimum expectation. Here we go again....................
Gotcha! Read the OP again mate. For this club anything other than promotion will be a failure. I have no idea whether we will be good enough, will deserve it, etc etc. But it is a necessity, complete disaster if we don't, because we won't make any progress in other areas under Harold.
Expectation? To restore some pride in the shirt with players who actually give a damn and players that I know will do their utmost to do well for QPR. What we can all be sure of it that the NPC is a tough tough league. Look how close things are. Millwall only a few weeks ago we well into mid-table and are now only a few points from the drop zone (as one example that springs to mind). So many teams can be in with a chance in that league, and it will not be easy for sure. I just hope everyone keeps expectations realistic. Thats not to say that I dont want to go back up - I hope to god that we do. Imo we need to as otherwise we could end up struggling to get out for a few seasons. But its going to be a rollercoaster (when isnt it being a rangers fan!).
Nice catch Stan! In all honesty, it's all out of my hands and so hoping/expecting mediocrity isn't something I'll do. Scrub that - even if something is in my own hands I aim for perfection and then re-evaluate as I go along.
SB I'd settle for - Decent pies Top notch wet Tuesday nights in northern outposts Winning more than 4 times a season would be nice Losing 1 nil at Huddersfield Sub £30 quid tickets Mid table obscurity and no relegation / promotion dramas Winning aint everything. A pie a pint and something to moan about and I'm generally happy
My expectations for this season was that we finish about 12th, please God we have a decent start next season and at least make the play offs.
