Lack of consistency is a worry, we can't carry passengers in the Championship. I think it is a problem finding his best role, which is probably Adels' as well, both have the ability to play well in the hole off a target man...

Agreed. But Taarabt is a much, much better player than Granero. Granero played well at Reading, but they were so poor I reckon I could have strolled around the middle of the park and looked ok!!
If Adel stays, we can't carry anyone else other than him. He'd be worth it as he'd probably get us up again.

I think at least we know Adel can terrorise Championship defences, I don't see Granero terrorising even his granny...

i feel Mr Granero will be off to pastures new, i still think he could do a job in a good passing team, but in the premier league, they would eat him alive in the championship, you need to be able to fight your corner in the championship and in my opinion he dont have it.

Lets not forget that faurlin was less than convincing when he first joined, look at the player he's turned in to.

I'm just so damned surprised at how quick our fans seem to crucify our players, manager and board! Ok, we've had a bad year, but the alternative is to continue to have an ever changing team with no team spirit, a new manager every few months, and how did that work out for us before? A laughing stock. And does anyone really want the board to quit?

It was the clubs fault, as a whole for last season, trying to do too much too quickly. But obviously some very well played pros didn't perform, but with so many new players they had no one to turn to for leadership.

Apart from Bosingwa who has showed many times that he doesn't give a ****, the rest on occasions have shown some passion and skill, but when all else is falling apart around you, it can't be easy to settle in and feel part of a team.

Lets give them a chance and they may surprise us. An example is heidar helguson, who was dog **** first time around with us, a little loan spell and a new chance and he was everyone's hero. And we shipped sir les off to turkey on loan cause he didn't look like he'd make, come back and the rest is history!!

It's a testament to Faurlin that he turned out as well as he did. A teenager speaking barely a word of English and playing for a manager who didn't care for him in a country half way round the world. Not sure that Granero has that strength of character.

I believe Faurlin was far better allround player than Granero, BUT that was before his injury. Granero was a major disapointment this season , but somehow i see him doing well in NPC next season. However im still confident he will go back to spain...............

What is there to be scared about in the NPC? The teams are worse, the players are worse, the football is much, much worse, but it's not inherently more violent, the rules are the same and a good passing team, like Swansea, can play its way out of the mire. Thats what we should be aiming for, and Granero can do a job in that.

    Very good post Lone.

    Excellent points.

I'd like to see him stay because he does have some skill and some fight. He also has character but not in a disruptive sense.

We need to show some quality to make it in the Championship and Granero epitomises that extra difference we need.

I'd like to have Diakite, Jenas and Faurlin around too with a three man midfield (more Jenas and Diakite for those grim away days).

Not sure M'Bia will be here next season but I can't really figure out why I think that.

I would prefer to keep m'bia than granero

Lones post is sensible but on the hypothesis he puts forward we'd keep the entire current squad ' just in case they come good' - we can't do that realistically and on balance the lines of granero are just too inconsistent to make a case for losing another £89m (yes I know I'm playing to the gallery here) on the off chance he fancies turning it on at Bournemouth in December

I honestly think its time to let to. I said before he's an older and more expensive parejo - English football doesn't suit his game

Jenas is a great prospect for next year - with one weakness. Propensity for injury.

If Granero's in the mix it could be the year that makes him as both character and player. I'd love to see him turn his and our fortunes around.

It's going to be another rollercoaster year

Finally ill be able to buy an away ticket without being a ST holder plus plenty of games 'up our end'

Looking at it I think wolves have too much to do and I fancy Barnsley swapping places with Peterborough and avoiding the drop. Donny away only 30 mins from me so there'll be a pie & pint on me for that one

Ill also take my box option at weds next season and go in the lash with all my long suffering weds supporting mates

There's a lot to look forward too - chin up

You're right of course..........I just don't particularly rate Granero. I hope that, if he stays, he proves me wrong. I'll certainly stick my hands up if it happens.

    Im undecided on Granero tbh

I can see both points for and against. Whilst he hasnt got the 'drive' in the sense that he isnt rushing around the pitch I dont think he is one of the players who doesnt care.

He did form a good partnership against Spurs with Faurlin that we were all looking forward to!!

Perhaps keep to see if he can turn it around.
