Well most who have watched him in a live game know he was not fit and is lacking a great deal .

No break for any of these players well... Training starts again in June !!! IMO

To be fair to him, When he was signed he made it very clear he wasn't fit, and wasn't ready to play. He hadn't played since the previous November and he stated at the time he was 40% fit. The consensus at the time seemed to be a 40% fit Samba was better than anything else we had... so he was played.

I can't see that he is saying anything now he didn't say at the time.

We were the club that paid 12Mil for an unfit player and then played him, doesn't seem right now blaming Samba.

Yes but exactly how long does it take to get up to speed? Surely not the whole of the remainder of the season. If that was the case, can we have our wages back for the half season he's been with us? It takes players six weeks training to get back up to full match fitness after a month lounging on a beach in the early summer. He has had three months and now tells us he was unfit. Fact is he was flattered by all the headlines about him and that the Russians spent way over the odds to get a big decentish CB. That's what he is when he plays well or is match fit or whatever. He was never the saviour that Hughes or Redknapp proclaimed him to be.

Was Nelsen fit? Was Hill up to speed?

Fact is, as a pairing they did wonders to stabilise our defence after weeks / months of leakage.

Wasn't Samba's evident fitness problems that caused his failure to impress. It was his head. Brain was never in gear. Terrible positioning and clearly no telepathic understanding with Hill as captain and CB partner.

Let's hope he sorts himself out and proves himself downstairs in the NPC.

A stat for you: Under Harry Redknapp - not including the Utd away game as he wasnt really in charge of that side.

11 games this season before Samba's arrival - we had 4 clean sheets - conceded 11 goals - avg 1 goal per game
11 games this season since Samba arrived - we have had 2 clean sheets - conceded 19 goals - avg 1.72 goals per game

So our goals per game ratio has gone up and we have had less clean sheets since Samba came in. And the games before Samba came in were against the likes of Spurs, City etc..

Obviously I guess you can say we were more defensive as a team before Samba arrived, but its an interesting stat nevertheless.

Samba hasn't impressed me but we were parking the bus under Harry before he arrived, but needed wins desparately after he came. Additionally Cesar's form went well down the tube after Samba came.

Whichever way you look at this, it is just not good enough and should never have been allowed to happen. Harry did try very hard for Dawson of course.

Im thinking Samba and Onouha could prove a strong partnership next season, assuming of course we keep them both and get them FIT ;)

If he knew he wasn't fit enough, he should have said earlier instead of giving disappointing performances.

Perhaps if he admits he was only 75% fit, he will donate 25% of his wages to QPR Community Project.

Honesty and commitment to the club is all we ask for.

    ??????

A quote from Harry at the beginning of Feb on Samba, Redknapp said: "We asked how he was and he said about 40 per cent fit. If that’s 40 per cent, I don’t know what he’ll be like at 100 per cent. He was fantastic."

All the people suggesting he is wrong to take the money when he wasn't fit are WRONG, we signed him knowing he wasn't fit, he didn't really want to play because he wasn't fit and knew he wouldn't be able to give his best and would ultimately look a bit ****e, but he played anyway because we needed him.

Sounds like the sort of commitment we need doesn't it?

As to why after a couple of months his performances remain unconvincing, I share everyone's frustration, i don't whether he has a fitness or injury issue still which is preventing full fitness, or whether he is actually just not as good as we thought, what i do know is i would rather he stays and partners Onuoha next year rather than any of the other current options.

I understand Samba is on £100,000.00 per week. That's for 40% fitness.
Wow,lucky for you that he wasn't 100% fit, as he would then have been on £250,000.00 per week.
So you've been saving £150,000.00 every week.
    Every cloud... !!!

Absolutely, would rather he stay but we would expect far more commanding performances.

Lets face it on many occasions Hill has been a better CB.
