Here's a tweet that is encouraging

    Luke Edwards ‏@LukeEdwardsTele

Supposed 2 be off today but rather good #nufc story has ruined that little luxury! The Daily Telegraph will have all the juicy details 2mrw

If Wigan get relegated, Roberto Martinez.

But Rafa Benitez would be my pick.

He makes a side defensively solid and gets good results.

Reckon it will be Saggy chops. Would love Martinez but Rafa with the pedigree he has and his tactical nous could really push us forward and would be the wise choice.

I really, really don't want Lee Clark. It would be a complete disaster. I just know it

I believe that would end in heartache too.

I like Clark, his intentions would be good but the job is too big for him. Given the team we have we need a guy with a big reputation either as a player or a manager. Foreign is the way to go. Moyes is too good for us. Ashley has to give the next manager more freedom. Its vital for the progression of the club. If we stay up is a crucial crossroads for us and he must make the right decision.

I'm having a nibble at 66/1 on Poyet. Its who I'd want and those odds are fantastic!

What are the odds on Tash? His formation porn would at least give us a fighting chance compared with Pardew's pathetic 'tactics'.

Decent odds. Probably a good reason why they are so long - for one, Ashley won't get rid and even if he does, then up and coming managers like Poyet will stay well clear.

Wouldn't get Jol. As for Clark think he will be a brilliant manager for us one day, but not for another 5-10 years.

Can't see Benitez coming. Simply because he wouldn't fit into our set up. I can't imagine a champions league and la liga winner accepting transfer 'advice' from Carr. Rightly or wrongly. To be honest I think we're better off getting someone young in, maybe from abroad. Not Clark though, he loves spending money badly and plays dreadful football.

hopefully pards wont be getting sacked as we have stayed up,if wigan go down would be a bit daft sacking our manager for a guy that's took a team down

Clarkie in to 2/1, with Rafa in to 4/1 tonight amidst the Luke Edwards rumours. Another one to creep in from nowhere is Laurent Blanc. Mais oui!
