    One last thing, your entire argument is ridiculous/pointless anyway because Barton accepted a wage cut, he just wants a longer contract <laugh>

  5. I know, i never said Barton will get these wages, i said he's worth the wages, and it all stemmed from the fact that some people can't understand that high wages aren't as expensive as being unsuccessful or even getting relegated.

    Tash seriously stop over rating Lualua, he's not even played an hour for us in the league! Hardly enough to rate him like Ferguson who's started a few games and looked comfortable.

  8. Well then bye. I'm not coming back to this thread, seems everyone else is doing this so i'm signing off now and not reading your replies.

    Ofcourse when everyone else does this, it's because the argument has grown tiresome, but when i do it, it's because i ignore "valid" points made by other users and i'm arrogant.

    <doh>

    Because you are arrogant; you post nonsensical bullshit about finances and the wage cap, which you have made quite clear you dont understand.

    It is not necessarily fears about his ability that are stopping him getting a longer deal! It is the fears about his behavior etc...

    I would offer him two years with an option for two more years to be added on good behavior with a clause that club cant get rid unless he acts up!!

    Thinking logically... whilst he has had a very good season, he is a loose cannon and could go off at any time!

    I think what the club is doing is correct, i also think that willie mackay (who lets not forget got players like amdy faye and jean alain boumsong deals here in the past) is bent and just out for as much as he can get!!

    Just bide our time and barton will sign a new del before this one expires!!

    Not only this but he has spent a lot of time injured and has only really had one (VERY) good season in four! Whilst he'll be taking a pay cut I imagine he'll still be one of the top earners and at 33/34 he probably won't be playing too much any more and being paid to sit on the bench (a la Smith). We have a lot of young midfielders and I'd be a little disappointed if 4 years down the line Barton and Nolan are still regular first teamers
