The hobbit was ****. I fell asleep. They kept singing. Got to the point where mountain trolls tried to eat them. So I was asleep by 9:30 and am awake at 6:30.

So I'm going to go to the car boot sale and see if there is anything worth buying.

It's got a fairly good rating on imdb but I wouldn't rush to watch it.

if you've read the LOTR books and compare to hobbit you will know that LOTR is by far and away the better written.

also i must say that seeing "familiar" faces as dwarves put me off.. that and the guy asking is there any chips... and finally how TERRIBLY poorly dressed and bearded they were. they just looked shabby compared to LOTR frankly.

The hobbit movie. i tried to watch, also fell asleep. I read the book in one day on a business travel day. that goes to show cos you'd never get through the LOTR books in one day... not one of them.

No but I'd wager the 'people' in it would probably pose more of a goal threat.

I've read both and disagree to some extent, the Hobbit is a more simple story and an essential part of the LOTR trilogy. LOTR is a much better story. The Hobbit film was good imo but trying to string it out over 3 films was a bad idea 2 would have been enough.

Not sure if it’s a good thing knowing what’s coming next or not! When certain things happened in tonight’s episode and knowing what it leads to was a real punch in the guts.

No, got quite a lot to watch at the moment I will get to them once I've cleared what I have.

There's a new documentary starting on Atlantic that is made by Kubrick The Untold History of America is what I think it's called.
