Just done the predictor: Tottenham 3rd, Arsenal 4th, Chelsea 5th, Villa 18th (one point ahead of Wigan before they play), Saints 12th, Wigan 16th, Norwich 17th.
Harry Redknapp takes a club down for the second time. All those years as a manager and what does he have to show for it? One FA Cup and look at what it has cost Portsmouth in return. The man is a sham of a manager and QPR deserve everything they get. Extortionate wages, no passion and a manager who relies on Joe Jordan. I wonder how the media will airbrush this one off of 'Arry's CV. So long and good riddance Redknapp, you morally corrupt, tax-dodging and money-grabbing cretin.
With regards to Wigan I would say this: Past results don't neceesarily translate into present ones.Lookds as if Figuroa is out for the duration. He's one of their best players and they will miss him.Their games will come thick and fast now, five in a 23 day period including a cup final.I just think that they may be worn out.If they lose to The Baggies then I think it's curtains for the Pie Eaters.
Cannot agree with this . Hope to play QPR again , but hope never to see HR again , that won't happen though ...................
"I've said all along, you know what the game's about, even when I was doing well, whether I was at Tottenham getting the Champions League, always say it's about players, about good players, that's always been my philosophy and I'm not saying that now because we're getting relegated, when I was flying high and going well I always say it's about good players, good pros, good footballers, and the game's never changed." Oh god Harry. The game's changed so much. Does he really just put his best 11 players out each week and hope that they get a result. That is a terrible comment for a Premiership manager to make.
He probably means it's about having a squad of 25 good players, which he definitely doesn't have at the moment. And if we assume he's going to lose the following: Samba, Diakite, Park, Taarabt, Granero, Remy, Bosingwa, Fabio, Townsend, Cesar, Mbia Then he's going to be left with the following: GK - Green, Cerny, Murphy DF - Hill, Suk-Young, Onuoha, Ben Haim, Harriman, Ehmer, Young MF - Derry, Wright-Phillips, Jenas, Hoilett, Andrade FW - Johnson, Mackie, Zamora, Hulse, Bothroyd, Campbell That's approximately five good players. So he's going to be needing about twenty more. Tough job for any manager.
Anyone else think that it is ridiculous that a must win game for both sides ends 0-0, surely you would just go all guns blazing and say we score or we concede! But for neither team to score... what a sorry way to go!
Poor man might only have ~25m to work with from that clearout, as well, thanks to their release clauses...that will barely be enough to flesh out their too-thin corps of strikers, let alone build a full team. I foresee quite a few hat-in-hand trips to Tony to assure him that paying mid-table PL wages is the only way to get players in for a Championship club, before Harry decides that he simply cannot do his job with such a paltry wage budget. Also wouldn't be sure that they'll lose a couple players on that list; they'll likely have to loan Bosingwa out while eating a large chunk of his wages, because there's no way that he'll take a pay cut, and even less chance that a team will pay him as much as QPR does.
He(/Cotterill) will definitely find it tough to deal with keeping some of those players on the books next year, let alone getting them organised enough to win 20 games. I am amazed (well I'm not really) though that he is so fixated on the idea of throwing the "best" players he can get, whatever that means, out on the pitch. Are tactics not important? Is Harry's job just to buy the most high profile players he can and leave them to it? We all know too many agents have ripped off QPR...and Arry is the worst of the lot.
I reckon they are serious candidates for the double drop. The Championship is brutal and you need players with the right attitude in order to succeed, I'm not convinced that just throwing good money after bad is going to help their situation much.
Bosingwa seems like a prime target for one of those rich clubs in Russia or Qatar or somewhere, because those guys are stupid enough to pay loads for **** players. I suppose there might be some interest from Benfica/Porto or a few Brazilian teams as well.
