I am a better footballer than Paul Mcshane. This isn't even a joke or me being arrogant. I think a few on here are also probably better than him. I don't know how he is on 15/20k a week. Must be a really nice chap.

Barnsley set up 3-5-2 and "out 3-5-2'd " us.Why were they able to beat us so easily and so often down the flanks when Brady and Elmo seemed incapable of creating any danger .Bruce has relied so heavily on this formation all season that teams are ready for us and with a little bit more desire they nullify our forward motion easily.SB should have varied the tactics over the last few weeks especially since we had such an unsettled starting eleven.

    I always thought SB was synonymous with 4 - 4 - 2 I dunno where this 3 - 5 - 2 has come from

The reason for playing Fryatt is simple. Simpson has one goal in his last 31 appearances and we need to score goals

It would have been better to keep going with Simmo surely, whats the point of playing a player hardly fit and rusty as hell

    Because Simpson doesn't score?

Looking back at our goalscoring since Xmas I'd say that is a very generous comment.

Everyone is trying to see a solution and they have the same problem as Steve Bruce; we have strikers who don't / can't strike to save their lives or our promotioon bid. We have been deceived by snatches of excellence from different players at diffent times that has carried through (predominently) 1-0 wins - held together by an above average defence. We are still 2nd because other teams have gone tits-up in exactly the same way and we need to break the spell or we are ****ed, simple as.

Koren goes AWOL, he switches off, he frustrates the **** out of me, but we seriously miss his quality as a play-maker and opportunistic goalscorer - we shouldn't, but we do! The truth is that at this stage of the season the starting eleven should pick itself and it doesn't, Fryatt or Simpson is an academic question as there is nowt to chose between them - Simmo on assists? Assist who for **** sake, nobody wants to score.

Simpson has eight assists, he holds the opposition further up the pitch and links the midfield to the other striker.

Considering the only other options are someone who hasn't played all season and someone who looks like they should be in League One, I don't think I was being generous at all.

I think you are way too generous. We have Boyd to link. We need our striker to score goals. Simpson is a striker yet his scoring record is woeful. He is not there to link and assist. He is there to score.

So you'd have gone with Fryatt or Proschwitz then?

    Trust you to ignore it.

If he plays against Cardiff and we win it'll be all thanks to him again no doubt.

Quite simply because they scored early. You can't do that in this league. Going behind makes an enormous difference to the game. The game was lost in two minutes yesterday and it was a classic McShane marking moment to thank for that. Whenever Chester/Hobbs/Faye has been our back three this season we've looked miles better.

I would have played Simpson, as I don't believe Fryatt is anywhere near match fit; but, like i said earlier, it is Hobson's choice and would give no manager any confidence - it was too big a game to gamble with NickP, although there would have been a real temptation for me.

How the **** McShane is getting all of the blame for the opening goal is beyond me, just what was he supposed to do, he had two men on him, others had ****ed up their involvement and Brady was sauntering along with no intent of tracking back to take on a man. McShane was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. It was an excellent shot from a tight angle, any defender would have done the same. Our best matches were when McShane was in the back three and when he was ninjured we wobbled like a League One defence.
