I think the whole team played crap apart from Clyne and maybe Boruc. Yes Ramirez and Fox got sent off but it didn't exactly change anything we were still crap after. So crap with 11 and with 9, I just take it as a very bad day. Hopefully the players don't think they are on holiday already or we will get smashed against spurs.
Anyone else think the mass exodus from the stands after Long scored WBA's third was despicable and an embarrassment?
Why? We were playing very very poorly and were being hammered. I left (the first time I have left early) because I was fuming and I just wanted to get home.
Actually I was pretty happy, the bloke behind me had left so I enjoyed the match a lot more and b did not have to worry about him dribbling on me. Seems strange, I expected him to be happy that Ramirez and Fox were off the pitch!
I think I overheard someone say that they would normally leave early to beat the traffic, but as loads of people were leaving early they stayed until the end to avoid the traffic!
^ This. I left just before the final whistle as I didn't fancy having to stand around for 10 mins waiting to get out having to listen to all the moaning.
Surprised there isn't more complaining about the ref. He got the red card decisions right but he was very poor before that and that's why the team lost their heads. All game we were either pushed off the ball, pulled and occasionally arms all over a player challenging for the ball in the air. Just before the Fox red Mayuka wildly flew into a challenge as well and luckily made no contact. The ref might have played advantage (didn't see it) on Ramirez but I wasn't thinking that at the time and I'm sure Ramirez wasn't either after what had happened before that.
I understand the exodus and appreciate everyone's right to vote with their feet. May have made a good point with the players. However, I also feel that as a fan you have to take the rough with the smooth.
Not since league one have I got away the ground and immediate surrounding area so quickly after the final whistle, as I did yesterday. Loved it!

True, but I did want to make a point to the players. If I'd stayed I would have booed loudly at the final whistle. I really don't want to boo the players so I left early and vented my anger to myself while walking to the train station.
I think people are being a little unfair calling WBA, mediocre. I would go as far as to say that they are the best side we have played this year (on that performance obviously). They were bright and in our faces from the outset. They did to us what we did to Man City etc. They scored 2 good goals and broke very quickly from defence. Plus they defended very well. For all our possession we never really threatened. I know we were lacklustre but credit where it is due. You know how it always annoys us when we win that the pundits always put it down to the opposition playing badly.
Yeah, they are annoyingly good. The frustrating thing is that they had perhaps been performing below their usual standards in the last few weeks, so we thought based on form we should be winning that game. They showed up though, and we didn't. The form table indicated that the opposite was more likely to happen.
I agree and said earlier. We were done by a very well organised team who could also play and hit us hard on the break. *note to Big Sam - you can stop a team from playign in a non-negative, ugly way* well done WBA
Does anybody know why Shaw wasn't playing ? Fox and Ramirez were sent of for straight reds which will leave them out for 3 games each. Leaves us very weak on the left if Shaw can't play!!!
Only repeating what others have said, but appears to be his ligaments. He was wearing a protective boot on Saturday. As Mauricio has suggested that Clyne can play LB, it sounds like it is something he has had to consider.
