I guess the Saints curse is still there...........Just can't seem to hack it against physical sides and hoofers. As others have said it was a poor performance. I'm not sure why we virtually played with out wide men....Certainly we had players going out wide at times but there was no answer to their running and closing down. Our lot need shooting practice that's for sure Most shots from distance went too far over the bar. In my opinion the set up by MP showed up his inexperience of English football. He does not seem to have a way of dealing with teams that pack their defence and rely on breakaways. Once again for their first goal panic set in at the back. I also didn't think Boruc commanded his box too well although granted but for him it could have been 5/6 goals against. Play like that again and we really will be in the Championship a lot quicker than we would like.........Lets just hope it was a blip.
Really? Morgan? Clyne? Boruc? Davis? Yes saints were bad, but once again saints fans prove to be blinded by a bad result .overall a bad team showing yet still some individuals showed their worth.
I agree with this apart from the Lallana and Davis comments. Lallana was poor yesterday but up until his injury he had still been pivotal in our creative play. Yes he could be more clinical, but don't write him off yet. As for Davis, I just don't think you understand football fully if you can't see his value. Not every player has to be a goal threat. His contribution to our possession, closing down and winning the ball back is very important. I'm not being rude to you, it's just frustrating when people don't see beyond goals. How many goals has Michael Carrick got to go with his winners medal?
is anyone comming round to my theory that Gaston is actually ****? When he came on he looked like me might actually do something, then gets himself sent off. Total waste of space this season.
Oh Oli. We d had this debate a zillion times. Your above statement contradicts itself. Anyone think he's ****? Then he looked good, then he's **** again just because he was sent off. He is a very talented footballer who has not performed to his ability since the Everton game. He had some very good games and some not so good games. Once again a knee jerk reaction from Saints fans. His sending off was needless, but doesn't make him **** or require him to be shot. In recent weeks, we've looked very good with him not starting but what a great threat to have available.
Please tell me what aspect of his play and overall skill led you to this carefully considered and thought through conclusion?
Was excited to watch him in his early games, but he's gone backwards and seems that Adkins & Pochettino sort of share that opinion as neither are risking building a team around him (as Cortese probably wanted, because he certainly told Ramirez that when he bought him) He's good mates with Suarez, so I presume they'll be improving their golf swing together over the next few weeks. I am 100% sure that Ramirez will engineer a move this summer.
Er.......let's think about this for a second. Oh yeah, HELL NO. What he did yesterday was stupid, no doubt about that and I was pissed off with him but was anyone saying Lambert was **** after getting sent off against Brighton? No, thought not.
I didn't see or hear Rickie shout, but I did see Gaston (in the right central midfield position) absolutely let rip at Fox, seemingly for not pushing forward.
I think most of us are resigned to the fact that you will finish above us this season. Oh well, both clubs have had a good season and there's always next season.
Mustn't over react...it was a bad game. Top teams lose games unexpectedly as well. Most disappointing thing was the performance, but, as Mauricio said post-match, this is not who we are. As he spoke he was clearing a crick out of his neck...looked like he was getting ready for a punch up...hope the lads kept their heads down
