Just out of Interest, how many points can you see Villa and Wigan getting out of their remaining 4 games? And how many points do you think it will take to stay up? I think 39 points will keep you up this year because of Villa and Wigan playing each other on the final day. So ideally we will need to win 1 game or draw 2

I think we'll draw 1 and go down.

SAFC should beat Villa, but Wigan are experts at escaping the drop, they have Swansea and Villa at home, but Man c and WBA away they could get 7 points which would be 39 points needed.

Next weekend will be massive IMO, all 3 teams play at the same time and all 3 are away from home

Its Arsenal away mate not Man City

We need West Brom to beat Wigan. I expect Wigan to beat Swansea at home That leaves Arsenal away and Villa at home. Now lets they say they lose that which I suppose is likely, going into the final day they would be 2 points behind us if we didn't get anymore points. If we drew and they won I would say our goal difference would be worse by then so that means they can't get more than a draw because if they do we are ****ed.

In short, if Wigan get anymore than 4 points we are done. I can see Villa beating Sunderland and then getting a draw against Norwich. I think its going to be between us and Wigan and it don't look good.

Villa have been given 3 big bodyblows over the last 3 games. 1) Late goal conceeded against Man City (cost them 1 pt), 2) Big loss against West Ham, 3) Late goal conceeded against Tottenham (cost them 2 pts). Just because they are past masters, doesn't mean this year will be the same. It's all about momentum and right now, that is simply not the case for Wigan!

I think we have enough already (and it's just as well). That said, predicting Wigan games at the end of the season is like trying to juggle jelly

Hmm, 11s for the drop is overpriced. Before today the goal difference was worth half a point in itself; that has now evaporated.

With the games that Newcastle have got left it may be worth backing the drop at 11s and then in a week or two laying them at a lower price because if Newcastle get no points at West Ham next week then that price will halve.

And can anyone see an away win at Upton Park next match, I can't? And I think that a draw is going to be optimistic. Go for the 11s now and then lay it off 'greening' up this time next week.

39 points will be needed imo, can see villa beating Norwich, and probably get at least a point against us on Monday, and maybe even a point against Chelsea also I can see Wigan beating Swansea and villa, maybe get a point v west brom, it may come down to goal difference

you will only need a point, and that will come at qpr, how important was that late late winner against Fulham now, I would be a touch worried, but I cant see villa winning against the mackems, villa crap at home mackems on a roll, your saving grace is wigan villa on the last game

This. West Ham in ok form + we'll be coming up against an ex-manager, ex-captain and ex-number nine... Foregone conclusion. QPR - Redknapp has the beating of Pardew. Arsenal = another sound thrashing.
