But also made a defencive howler gifting spurs a goal, did the splits and injured himself and scored an own goal
I think Boruc is clearly our best keeper now but he should have done better with all 3 of those goals.
He also made three or four fantastic saves. He's pretty much blameless for me; too much going wrong around him.
Well that was dreadful. However in the whole history of Southampton Football Club we have always, always been peculiarly awful against teams like West Brom. Always. Plus we had the Lawrenson curse to contend with....
Well, I don't think that was quite our worst performance of the season, West Brom had the perfect away performance really, but it was certainly up there. Never good when you lose 3-0 and get two red cards. Real concern for me is not the result today, but this is another low or mid-table team we have performed poorly against, and another home game we have been well beaten in, in a game we were favourites to win. We really need a plan B for when teams come and play on the counter.
Thank god Spurs drew level, can't underestimate how big a goal that is. We are still 7 points from the relegation zone, although Wigan have their game in hand against Swansea at home coming up.
Well that's one to forget. No point getting too down, we seem to have done the hard work the last couple of months. No way we will be in a relegation "dogfight". On to the next one.
Missed the losses to West Ham and Wigan owing to work, so I can't comment on them. But I'd say that it's the worst performance I've seen this year, even worse than the drubbing against Arsenal...scarcely generated a chance all day, save for Clyne shooting from tough angles.
1st goal he should have just grabbed. 2nd he let Lukaku past him too easily. 3rd goal went through his legs. I wouldn't agree that that leaves him 'blameless'.
C'mon, now. The second and third were one-on-ones; he came for the first and Lukaku beat him, on the second he has Long shooting from not too far away, with very little time to react.
Agree with that. He made some great saves on several occasions when one-on-ones. West Brom should have scored several more really. We were poor all over the pitch. Morgan was the best player for us and Clyne did OK. Pochettino will not be happy and I'm sure we will put in a much improved performance against Spurs. I don't see the point in getting too down about this result or performance. It is what it is. We were very poor but West Brom were very very good. Three games to go now and thanks to that late Spurs equaliser, things aren't as bad as they could have been. The important thing is that we have points on the board and 9 still to play for.
Joint top of assists chart with something like 13, which is remarkable for a full back at any level. We simply wouldn't have got automatic promotion without his set pieces. Some of our fans completely refuse to acknowledge this for some reason. He's not good enough for where we are now and should go in the summer, but we should appreciate his contribution.
