I'm making my special ham joint tonight..

Bought a massive gammon joint which is currently boiling in cider, mustard, honey, studded onion with cloves, bay leaf.

Then make a glaze out of honey, soy sauce and grain mustard, served with dauphinoise potatoes and sauteed cabbage. Oh and bread sauce. <ok>

    That is basically the recipe..

Bought one massive gammon joint, soaked it in water for an hour to get some of the crap out of it.

For the boiling broth two bottles of bulmers, 1 onion studded with cloves, table spoon of whole grain mustard, table spoon of honey, vegetable stock cube, bay leaf, few pepper corns and a splash of Worcester sauce. Boil it for an hour or so depending on size. Then for the glaze, half a bottle of soy sauce, tbsp honey, tbsp whole. Grain mustard then reduce in a pan til it goes sticky then drizzle over the joint and whack in the oven for 45 mins ish.

  13. Two fresh quarter pounder angus burgers, half a block of cheese and half a onion (the other half ). Started cooking and preped the cheese and onion only to find I didn't have any cobs left, bloody kids!!! Used garlic flavoured wraps instead <ok>

I'm having minestrone soup followed by pork chop and veg.

    The food's been ok.

By the way, do you two KNOW you have IBS or just assume it to be? You've only said that since I suggested it Sweat. Must be nice knowing what to avoid, mine is just entirely random in its attack.

  15. I've been diagnosed with it <ok>

First started when my mrs was pregnant with our first (he's six in July), thought it was sympathy pains for ages but got to the point where I couldn't walk properly so had to go to the doctors <laugh>

Watch out for that then, some GP's just diagnise that without looking into deeper issues like I have.

I went in to the doctors, got this ****ing Kiwi locum toss pot who shoved his finger up my arse and decided I had IBS and gave me some peppermint rubbish. Suffice to say he was way off the mark and I had to crusade to get the useless ****ers to send me to an actual specialist.

As you can see, I have an axe to grind with my GP's. If they had their way i'd be using buscopan and suffering.

My mrs reckons I have it. Been like it for years, my stomach reacts badly to stuff and I end up with cramps.. May be linked to my constant heart burn. As I take antacids all the time which means my stomach acid doesn't break food or bacteria down very well.

  18. Didn't get as far as the arse. Described the pain/ feelings and they said it was IBS and gave me the tablets for it which worked. Not had tablets since but I don't eat super spicy stuff now because I know I'll suffer

Sounds like it was as simple as that then.

Mine's nothing to do with diet, weirdly. You'd think that it would be.
