    Yeah it was a half decent attempt at a wind up. It was traditionally the East Riding that used the rose in this orientation, with the North and West having a petal at the top instead of a sepal. But, there's no such thing as an official "East Yorkshire Rose". There's now an East Riding flag, as of April this year but the registered difference here isn't the orientation of the rose, it's the fact that it stands on a half blue and half green background, to symbolise the rural and maritime activities of the county. The Yorkshire flag is a solid blue background with the rose on.

    Guess you East Yorkshire (or was it humberside) folk are just desperate to be different in some way

    Great comeback <ok> Someone posts a bit of info on why it might be wrong, and you trot out the same old lines about Leeds not being as big as the fans think anymore. Still big enough to get your back up though, eh?

    The East Yorkshire Rose came about during The War of the Roses, when East Yorkshire reversed the rose of the House of York, so it was the same way up as the red rose of Lancaster, while still being the White Rose of Yorkshire.

    <doh>

    Within that post, there is nothing saying "it might be wrong" at all. You basically said it's bullshit and an attempt at a WUM which it clearly isn't.

    Alright fair enough, "it might be wrong" I guess is my turn of phrase. You're right, I was saying it's wrong. And in my opinion it is. I did say that traditionally the East Riding has used it "upside down" for want of a better term. As lambrettaman points out, that goes back to the War of the Roses. I was just saying that there isn't an official East Yorkshire Rose, and the original post does seem like a wind up, trying to get a rise out of us by saying we've got the East Yorkshire Rose on our new kit (which we don't like anyway! <laugh>).

    But come on, it's a forum, there's more to life than this

    Shirts are made to make money, that is all, this one will make money as the kiddies will want it, even if it does look like a Chelsea away strip from early 2000's

    I've realised why I like it; it looks like a PSG kit in Leeds colours. I love PSG's kits.

    Steve

    No Leeds fan (apart from Mighty) would take advice from a Millwall fan about any player
