I did, there were two or three that were malicious, the rest looked like accidents. Missteps, but in slow motion, everything looks bad. I could do a slow motion of anyone mistiming a tackle, and it would look like they were going to kill someone. I guess if you don't like Suarez, you'd just say anytime he touches anyone, he's looking to kill them, though.
It's been said before, but no apologies for saying it again: far more sickening than what Suarez did (a kiddy-like moment of rage at being thwarted, more like a hard suck than a bite) is the tidal wave of hypocrisy from people who claim spitting and biting are manifestations of antichrist while studs-first tackles, constant niggling fouls and telling all and sundry to eff off are just something we have to live with cos it's part of the game. Suarez is a nasty little piece of work, just like other pro footballers who somehow escape being pilloried by the cognoscenti ( ha, ha) because they're not so easy a target.
night lads, i'm off to my own board, good chatting with you, your alright in my book, see ya next year hopefully
Unfortunate Statement. Suarez comes out straightaway and apologises to all and sundry: player, club, football, population, ... Yet for that statement he gets an extra 7 matches according to the panel report. Why? Because in that statement he also said he only deserved 3 matches. The panel concluded that he did not appreciate the seriousness of his act. Who the **** in the comms department wrote that statement ( can't be Suarez as he is illiterate )? Without that sentence, the panel would have given him 4-6 matches. Time to sack the director of communications IMO...
There were zero open Suarez threads when I made this one yesterday, and it was just to discuss specifically what happened yesterday. I think this has now been done so it can be closed.
There are currently three Suarez threads but each took a different approach in the OP. One was more about the BBC and media in general. This one is about aftermath comments and the third was posted by a neutral and seems to have gotten a sensible discussion going.
The same FA that banned Suarez for 10 games said this was not deserving a 3 game ban. But this is not double standards I am sure
