Well this was brilliant to read. I've RT it on our twitter. Bristol City FC ‏@bcfctweets 3m SO'D: "A few weeks ago I took the chance to go and see Real Madrid B to look at players possibly for our development squad." What do we make of this then? Hope we do pinch some talent. From Madrid To Bristol
I must admit, this caught me by surprise. SOD is clearly a hands on type of guy, but they must have some targets to have the manager himself go to Spain. Tellingly the next comment suggests that we have spoke to a few "all of them want to plsy in England" or something along those lines
Well we will soon find out when we sign a lot of Pedro's Santi's Julio's etc Would of also thought if they are good enough for Real B then they are good enough for league 1 football!
Real's second team "B" play in the Spanish Second division with the name of Real Castilla and Also Barca B. I would expect that every match they play is a tough game, because all the other teams will be treating it as their cup final and wanting to put one over on the big boys from Real. So League One will not be any tougher! Who knows, we could be getting good youngsters on season long loans from Borussia Dortmund, with whom we have some links amd now maybe from Real Madrid. Does SO'D know Jose Mourinho personally I wonder?
Can we play women in league 1...... I know we had a load of women playing for us season past...... But based on what I witnessed yesterday we would do well signing a few of the academy players with their HEARTY performances out their...... Well done to them a team playing at the gate on a decent cup run........
you cannot be serious LL you cannot afford to run your current squad View attachment 23371 View attachment 23371 View attachment 23371 ooh me sides relegated and still deluded keep the funnies coming please. Oh yeh remember what you posted in August 2012 LL Classic COR
I think a lot of this is down to our potential status as a category 2 academy. If we get this, our academy will be far more open to allowing foreign talent to join our academy. We've already got a few player in our academy from America and central Europe, and in recent years the club has been happy to look abroad for talent. We've been linked with players from MLS on more than one occasion and we've hosted talent from Ajax before in Evander Sno. I'd like to see us take a few players in Real Madrid B, simply because they have some real talent that isn't getting through due to their transfer policy. Even some of their duds would be more than good enough for League 1. Most importantly, if we can get a few youngsters in from other academies it will increase the quality and the perception of our own academy.
No problems let us know how it went Back to the thread. It would be good if we get some links with the continental teams, unless Lansdown is goin to buy Real Madrid, and do what Watford done this year. They could be looking at sending some of their players to harden them up in the lower leagues as well.
Its taken a long time for you to take off those sunglasses Nice to see that you finally admit that you are in the lower leagues Rodders Welcome aboard COR
As to stalking at his age any attention is welcome I am sure. As he always makes a remark following my posts I generally return the compliment, not wishing to ignore him as he might get upset. Anyway Wiz, I am having a sausage and bean casserole tonight with mash hmmmmm COR
