Harry Redknapp hopes Loic Remy will stay at QPR QPR's Harry Redknapp reckons Loic Remy could stay despite imminent relegation to the Champonship By Kieran Beckles Friday 26 April 2013, 10:44 UK Harry Redknapp is hoping Queens Park Rangers can keep hold of Loic Remy beyond the summer despite imminent relegation to the Championship and interest from Arsenal. The France international has been one of the few success stories at the west London outfit this season after scoring five goals in nine Premier League appearances following a £8m move from Marseille in January. Remyâs form for struggling QPR earned the forward a call-up to the France squad in March and alerted a host of Premier League clubs to the possibility of making a summer swoop for the Hoopsâs talisman. But Redknapp, whose side are 19th and 10 points from safety with four games remaining, is eager to keep Remy on QPRâs books in the Championship next season to help their promotion bid. âHeâs been great. Heâs a player that I think could score 20 Premier League goals in a full season,â said Redknapp. âHeâs come here and played a handful of games but he is our leading goal-scorer. âIt will be difficult [to keep him]. Weâd like to keep him obviously but we have to sit down and see what his plans are.â Brazil international Júlio César, who was pictured in a Chelsea shirt at David Luizâs birthday party during the week, is another who has impressed but Redknapp insists there have been no enquiries about the goalkeeper. âNo idea. Iâve not had any enquires for him or spoke to anyone about him,â added Redknapp. And the 66-year-old Hoops boss is optimistic the west London side can fend off interest in the players he feels can contribute to their attempts to secure an immediate return to the top flight. âWeâll only let people go who we want to let go. The ones we want to keep, weâll keep them,â he said. âPeople have got contracts. âThe silly thing about this game is that the ones you want to keep, are the ones that want to go. âThe ones you would like to let go, donât want to go. Weâll keep the ones we want to keep for sure⦠Weâll see how it goes.â
If the players wanted to stay up a tenth of how much we all want Remy to stay then the chances are he'd be leading the line against the nations best next season Incidentally, I want to win the lottery too but no amount of finger crossing and mouthing the words pretty please up to the heavens is going to make either happen.

Fingers crossed. Worst case hopefully is that we loan him out for the season. Would be gutting to lose such a good finisher.
It all depends on if he has a release clause, I really dont see him staying if he does. However it would be amazing if Harry convinced him not to use it.
Im holding onto the hope that Remy still remembers that TF played him on fifa to get him here in the first place! Hopefully he would be willing to stay with us having seen what TF, HR and the fans are like.
Id like to think that but I think he will be off. The likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal will be after him and hed chose playing in front of 60k at the emirates over going to barnsley on a wet december night..
Ill miss Barnsley if they do go down, all our news was on their site way before ours. Probably because our PR guy is too busy trying to gain more personal twitter followers than giving us the news.
I agree mate, always had a few beers before the game in the Leisure centre near the ground. Some good memories.
All this talk of Barnsley away completely misses out on our fantastic home record against them. From memory we have won 19 and drawn the other 2 of our last 21 home matches against them. Even Fitz Hall scored against them, what is there not to like about Barnsley?
