No real team news from Arsene today. For once, we have most our squad to pick from. Tempted to start Wilshere, because he has been back in training for two weeks and has had two games to get some fitness. Plus has had a full week to get ready for this game.
Interesting stat: There have been 10 penalties in the Premier League meetings between Arsenal and Man Utd in the Wenger era (eight for United, two for Arsenal); all at Old Trafford and six have been missed
Ill say it now, if we fail to win, then a serious big **** you to the team and Wenger. They owe us a victory at the Emirates against a big side, especially United after our mediocre record against them of late, and with all the guard of honour bullshit, the ****ing team better give something back to the fans, which is the THREE POINTS AND A WIN, get some ****ing pride for the fans please. The only big team we have managed to beat this season at home in the league has been Spurs, back in November, as I said, we're owed a home win against a big side, and if this team does have a bright future as Wenger keeps saying, then they need to ****ing prove it by beating a big side like United. Please AFC, it's not much to ask for.
Even more important now that Spurs have drawn. If Arsenal can win it'll give them a massive advantage in the last few games. I'd take a draw, they just need to not lose.
We've pushed them close 4 times this year (!) so I would really expect you lot to have a proper go at them. As a neutral fan I shall enjoy this game, let's hope it's a good one.
Though I suspect that you lot would probably take a scrappy 1-0 win courtesy of an own goal off of RVP's arse.
Apparently the silly rumour orginated at goal.com. Would start with a midfield of Ramsey, Arteta and Jack if fit.
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski Arsenal subs: Mannone, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Monreal, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho
Really looking forward to this game. I'm hoping the guard of honour we have to give RVP will really fire up our players to prove a point to him. It's not going to be an easy game, but if we can get off on the front foot, then we can really take the game to Utd. We'll need to be strong at the back too. If we get a result today it could be crucial in deciding where we finish, especially with chavs v spuds to come. COME ON ARSENAL
Just watching RVP on the pre match build up - I hope that **** has a terrible return to the emirates today
