It's odd that none of Cork Maya or Jos have netted this season. Maya scored regularly in Japan and Holland. Let's hope at least one changes that tomorrow!
Mauricio mentioned yesterday that, although he would love any player to score, Yoshida's duties are primarily defence and he wouldn't be playing him as a striker yet.
That's that then. I was confident, now I'll take a draw. At least he started backing us once we were fairly safe! 2-2, Lambo & Cork for his first goal!
Even Lawro knew he would look like a laughing stock if he went for another Saints loss. Bit worrying though.
Maya missed a sitter against Spurs and had one excellently saved by Rob Green against QPR. Likewise Jos missed a sitter against Everton. The signs are there! Cork on the other hand..
The result is the most important thing, but would like to see one of our full on, red arrows, charge forward type of games. Probably WBA not the opponents for that. It is interesting how few goals we are letting in recently...with MP's style it would be easy to think that we would score a lot and let a lot in (being caught on the break) but the improvement at the back is noticeable. Confidence from having Boruc there, perhaps. Of course, we wouldn't be Saints without the hairy moments and ping pong defending.
Sunny here in Hythe, Fran! On topic though, I think this will be another draw tomorrow. West Brom have had a good season, and Lukaku will be a real test for our defence. 1-1.
I think we will be too strong for them. He will be a handful but they've not been scoring many. If we make our usual number of chances I can see us getting 3 or 4!
I think we should really pump them, the pressure is off both teams, but we have the form and I suspect a more motivated team and manager. I am going for a 3-0 victory with Lambert scoring 3. ------------Boruc----------------- -Clyne--Maya--Hooiveld--Shaw- -------Cork--Schneiderlin-------- Puncheon--Ramirez--Rodriguez- ------------Lambert-------------- Hard to drop Lallana but I feel that is our best side.
Same team but I'd go with Lallana. Bit harsh on Punch as he's been out of the side fir s bit now bar sub appearances. Just feel that Lallana links up up a bit better as an attacking quartet. I predict 2-0 Saints, possibly 3-0 if we really get in our stride.
