He's actually gone for us winning 2-0. I'd be very happy with that, but can't help wishing he'd predicted us losing!

So Tiote is fit to play. Marv definitely out. I expect to see this. What line-up do you expect to see?

    I think this:

    .........................Elliot

    Debuchy......Saylor......MYM........Haidara

    ...............Cabs............Tiote

    HBA................Sissoko.............Gouf

    .......................Cisse

Even though I'd be inclined go swap Anita for Tiote and swap Cabs around with Sissoko.

Unless Pards finds a way to fit Jonas in. Either left back (for heaven's sake Pards, NO!) or out wide with HBA held back on the bench?

I'd go with that. I think Pards will fear their attacking prowess and play the more defensively minded Jonas....................

We all know that's the team that should play tomorrow - But Pardew's thinking is...'who do I play around Jonas'

I was thinking of formations and wonder whether we are living in a bit of a FM2013 world with our selections. I mean, isn't the reality that we don't have the players truly good enough to play in a 4-3-3? We all know that's what we'd like to see. I'm sure there's a Stoke forum somewhere claiming there best formation would have Etherington, Crouch and Pennant as their attacking triumvirate to take them to the Champions League. But really there just aren't many teams who can do it that well. You need serious money to be able to put out that kind of team - it's no good, as someone like NUFC, simply casting an envious glance at Bayern and saying "yep, I'm gonna be just like that tomorrow". We have good players, but are they Ribery, Mandzukic and Robben in attack?! Not even close.

I think we should be looking at 4-5-1. I also think we should be moving as far away from "width" as we can. Our main striker has thus far put away 0 goals from a conventional cross, with the considerable problem being he is - under Pardew's 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 - that we don't have another option in our current line-up. This with the added negative that our only attacking substitution is Gouffran <-> Ameobi. This in itself is more of a tactical change by the opponent, as it invariably means NUFC defend from the 60th minute onwards.

    I look at the squad we have and how we should be playing and feel our strength is on the counter. We have a helluva passer in the cap'n, a great box-to-box midfielder in Sissoko and a LOT of pace with the ball (Marv, Benny, Santon, Haidara, Debuchy, Gouff). So if we line-up with enough of this energy in the right areas, we can suddenly start to define how we should be;

    Elliott

    Debuchy...MYM...Taylor...Haidara

    .........Sissoko......Tiote...........

    Ben Arfa........Cabaye.......Santon

    ...................Cisse............

I was just looking on Betfair this morning and it seems that Liverpool are the favourites at the moment with 2.4 (or thereabouts) to win and Newcastle 3.2. The draw is 3.5 (all prices to back) which I never play as that's a right tricky sod to get right.

I'm still not sure of my betting tactics here today; but I may go for a lay ( I am sorry, folks) at about 3.2 and then get into more trading later on. I expect Pardew to mess this one up as well and if the game goes on until half time without a goal I will trade out for a small gain, if Liverpool score first then I will trade out for a larger gain. If Newcastle score first then I will lay some more knowing full well that Pardew will bugger this up royally, park the bus, and then concede a draw as he always seems to do.

If Newcastle win, as I hope, then it may have cost me a few bob but it will be worth it.

It really have been easy making money trading Newcastle this season; all too bloody easy, and if I can spot the pattern and the inability to maintain a lead then it's little wonder that teams don't panic when they go one down to Newcastle because they know that at half time Pardew will pull the Snooze-o-Switch and then everything goes to ****.

Three points today would be fantastic but, in all honesty, I can't see more than one. This run in is getting worse and worse by the minute.
