    <doh>

    To be fair to Cameron he was asked a specific question about the Suarez incident by a reporter on Radio 5 Live to which he started off by saying "It is a matter for the FA..." He would have been slaughtered if he chose to ignore the question and the incident and he would be accused of being out of touch so really he can't win either way!

    I truly can see where you are coming from, yet i cannot understand the logic.

    Another case that could be brought up, the mcmanaman tackle against the newcastle player this year, what happened when the FA looked at it, nothing! how many game has the newcastle player missed?

    Good to see that the bloke who left his own child behind in a pub can have such judgmental opinions on footballers...<laugh>

    I think you now have a pretty shrewd idea of where I stand by now however, these elbows can be harder to call because they are a more "natural" movement to obtain elevation and this is down to the discretion of the officials. All the same, running past a player and swinging the elbow in passing is of course something entirely different and again must be treated harshly to rid the game of it (never likely to happen imo)

    Which moves me nicely on to the next bit..........................

    For whatever reason, the actions of players are (in the main) not illegal in UK law and a result the players may believe they are indeed above the law and take such risks. Make them illegal in the eyes of the UK law and it can be taken out of the game.

    Not much different to some pissed fans, add 6 pints and they become indestructible and probably believe they can fly and run at the speed of light to get away from the law.

    I can't answer that one for you <yikes> I have no idea behind the FA's rational for their decision, it should have been a ban without question (to my mind) but how it was not thought so by "them" just about defy's belief.

    perhaps it could be because Rodgers was right, and they banned by the player and not the incident!

    but maybe the FA saw it as a fair tackle? So they wouldn't impose a ban - just saying. If you really want an explanation then email the FA and ask them and then you can fill us all in with their thoughts <ok>

    I just hate to think what the FA would have done if Suarez had bitten Evra! <yikes>

    Apparently, in Uruguay, biting someone's arm means that you like them and want to be their friend...

    Just another thought about the FA being consistently inconsistent!

    Remember back to when Rooney kicked the player and got sent off during the last England group game before the Euro Finals? The FA went on bended knee pleading to EUEFA to be lenient on the dirty runt eventhough it was a straight forward 3 match ban! It's funny how amidst all the howls of indignation over Suarez and the self righteous attitude adopted by the pygmies at the FA, the sorry saga of the FA trying to bend the rules to suit itself hasn't been mentioned!

    Once the FA starts acting in a serious way and treats every player with equal justice then the better football will be. The real problem at the moment is that the FA doesn't really know what it is doing and would rather be guided by the media and their own prejudices.

    Which World Cup was it that they did comedy voice overs of the sending off incidents?

    The one that sticks in my mind is two players jumping for a ball and one glances to the right and elbows the other player square in the jaw. The voice over said something like "My car has a new arm rest, you go like this [timed with elbow], Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to do that". Enjoyed them!
