    John will be looking for an experienced assistant manager, after letting Shaun North go earlier this week.

    Ward said:
    “Shaun was extremely supportive, but we feel we need to move in a slightly different direction. I have got nothing but praise for him and will give him a good reference. We are looking for someone with some managerial experience, not a young one, someone who knows what this league is about. I haven’t approached anyone or spoken to anyone about it yet. I have had a number of enquiries, but it is a pretty open book at this stage.”

    So then, doesnt sound like Stewart will be asked to step up and doesnt sound like Tilson be coming either. So its someone who has managerial experience who knows our league. Interesting. Ward says he hasnt approached anyone but he has to say that really. I think he has someone in mind.

    What do you think then? Who do you think it is?

    Don't know!<laugh>
    Names being mentioned are:
    Keith Curle, David Williams, Geraint Williams, Lindsay Parsons, Terry Connor, Dennis Booth, David Mehew, Phil Bater;
    and for some reason the manager of Accrington Stanley.
    Keith Curle would be a good shout.

    It won't be Leam Richardson, the manager of Stanley. He's about 12 and wouldn't want to take a step down to become assistant.

    Trolls? <laugh>

    ward said someone who knows our league and a few of those names dont have managerial experience in league 2. looking at names who know league 2 well and got the experience that ward wants, i dont know of any names that have any rovers connections so i doubt it will be someone with rovers connections!

    should be interesting though.

    Leam Richardson manages Accrington and also coaches at Leeds Utd's academy.

    It's always the same names mentioned though. Curle would be a decent shout, but I get the feeling this is going to be our future manager whilst JW moves upstairs

    i doubt it would be him. my guess is a much older manager someone bags of of experience but dont want the stress of another manager role quite yet. i doubt he would be an ex gas player.
