Never struck me as the type of player to get much praise. Nice to see him playing well and getting recognition in his position.
Yes. He is only banned from senior matches. Wierdly, it will help if we don't get into Europe because it would mean we'd have to play in the second round of League Cup games, this would be one of the ten games
I'd like to see him given another chance with us as a substitute. Feel like he offers more than Shelvey and he clearly loves the club so may be a bit more patient about not being a regular starter. I'm a big fan of the guy despite his limitations. Although I do remember him bossing Yaya at one point last season (I think).
I really like Spearing's energy, passion and defensive grit. He could be a very useful asset to have, but I suspect he may be sold for funds. I think him and Shelvey are to different to be compared though. Compare him to Joe Allen. Same kind of height, same position, about the same age. Both players strengths are the other players weaknesses. Combined in to one player they would be great.
I totally agree I was surprised he wasn't a bit more appreciated (by some) last season. We were pretty solid with the Spucas partnership as well so no reason they couldn't play together for certain games if required. I'd have had him over Allen this season especially as Allen was playing out of position and "carrying an injury". I think the big issue however is that I'm not sure Jay wants to just be a squad player. As with SuperDan I think he's the kind of lad who just loves playing every week. Even if he never wears a Red shirt again I wish him all the best whoever he plays for.
I approve of this thread! Jay's a solid, under rated player who I'd be more than happy to see back in the squad next season. Definitely better than our Welsh Xavi..
Has he? Tried to find a forum to see what they think about him but I can't find no news of him being their player of the season anywhere
And there's me thinking this thread may of revealed our first not606 marriage, or baby. Well done Jay lad.
