brb - just home from Cheltenham - and I find myself defending my thread rather than the performance by the Gills !
I have always used Dulux paint. It has tended to be dearer but superior to the 'own' brands of the various D.I.Y outlets. I have always had great results using Dulux. I repeat a claim from my previous post ; white has stayed white for years . Where I have used Dulux paint on the woodwork in my son's house - it is still brilliant white. As stated I suspected that the lack of conventional undercoat might have been the problem - however my son did research - where he discovered that 'Once' paint is not suitable for radiators - this was hardly going to be admitted by Dulux
    - can you imagine their advertising slogan : Don't buy our paint because it's rubbish on some surfaces
I had not experienced the phenomena because I do not have radiators in my home ( underfloor heating pipes tend to be a bit difficult to get at for painting. )
Still - I have now had plenty of experience of painting radiators - what colour would you like me to do yours? - you can have any colour you like - as long as it's Yellow

That Tesco girl has got some competition

The stadium announcer at Cheltenham obviously is a non smoker (I don't smoke - that's why my brilliant white paintwork stays white ! )
He reminded the crowd at the game that the ground was a 'no smoking' venue..... Perfectly reasonable - even if it had no effect on the selfish moron behind me at half time! - at least he is being screwed rotten in taxation for his pleasure. Talking about pleasure - I drink alcohol in modest proportions - but I do not think that I 'passively' annoy others as a result of my consumption - However there are 'by-products' to drinking. How would he have felt if I urinated in front of him ? - and caused some splashes over him ? (not a lot different to passive smoke is it ?) Anyway I digress
The stadium announcer then went on to say that the smoking ban also included electronic cigarettes. <yikes>
These cigarettes do NOT burn tobacco or tar. Your health cannot be affected by somebody using these cigarettes. More importantly these cigarettes are Exempt from the smoking ban laws. <doh>

Say what you see - unless you are from the F.A.

I see that Aguero is to escape any sanction by the F.A for his stamp on Luiz in yesterdays game !!!
If this wasn't another example of the incompetence of the officials & heirarchy in football, you wouldn't be able to believe it.
I can accept that the 'incident' occurred on the blindside of the match referee ( Chris Foy. ) who didn't see the incident !! - presumably that was why no action was taken at the time.
But surely the review panel have access to television replays.
I know that I am not alwaysright - despite what you lot think ! - BUT -
To me it looked like that Luiz gave a quick sideways look in the direction of Aguero just as the City player made his challenge. A split second later Luiz's elbow was raised and there was a definite attempt to put the point of the elbow into the face of Aguero - the fact that it didn't quite make contact is irrelevant. Then
Aguero - having lost the ball in the tangle between the two players, deliberately stamps on the legs of Luiz.
As far as I am concerned it was a pity that there wasn't more physical damage to both players - BUT
How on Earth can the F.A. panel not see what happened - two thugs who should have been banned for a few matches.
    Am I (always)wrong ?

Thanks for your private messages asking for more anecdotes. I won't disappoint you - as I have an opinion on just about everything !! but please be patient.
I feel that we all need to concentrate on our support for the Gills and hopefully then to join in with the celebration of the title.
I will have all the summer ( without the distraction of the play-offs ) to entertain you - unless
I have to start another New Manager thread.

Martin Allen claims he hasn't got a C.V. !! Who'se he kidding ? - He'll definitely have one after we win the title.

OK - A serious post (for a change) - which have you enjoyed most ?

I have been priviliged to have witnessed All the promotions in the history of the Gills. I think that to see the title won on home soil just about topped the Wembley wins - which, because of the lottery of play-offs, had an element of relief attached to the result. ( failure would have meant another season in the lower division ) That's not to say that I didn't enjoy those Wembley days. Today's celebrations felt much more personal - I suppose because of the closeness to the players & staff - you could almost touch the delight being felt by the team.

Yeah it is so much better, at home, my photos are so much better as you are closer to the players and it is just so much better to be title winners than have to go through play offs.

I am sorry for bringing a lot of silliness into your Season Ticket Photocards thread.
I don't know what's come over me this morning. I should have recognised that the quality of the stupidity of the posts I have submitted in that thread was far too good - and deserved a rightful place in this much exalted thread.
Please accept my humble *& sincere* apologies.
    * - I must remember to edit these words out because I don't really mean them.

If I hear someone else says the words "You can't defend what he has done but..." and then spout so much drivel and nonsense defending Suarez I think I am going to go insane!
All over the radio former Liverpool players and legends have come out and painted Suarez as the victim for biting someone!! He wasn't the bitee he was the biter!! John Aldridge, a man I used to respect, came on R5 live and said he felt that people were looking at everything Suarez does just to find fault... you don't have to look very far HE F*CKING BIT SOMEONE ON THE PITCH, and lets not forget IT WASN'T THE FIRST TIME EITHER!

People (well Liverpool fans) are worried that this will push out of English football, GOOD! He admits to diving, racially abused Evra and BITES people!!! Why would we want anyone like that in the English game? The "but he is a very good player" excuse doesn't cut it, I don't care, being a good footballer doesn't give you the right to be a ****!!

Rant over... I feel better for that

BSG - On the Liverpool board, even the majority of the Liverpool fans think that Suarez is a clot ( or something similar )
To some degree I can almost understand the stupidity of those who try to defend Suarez - I refer to the Post I put in this thread regarding Aguero & Luiz. The decisions by the F.A. do not help. Sometimes their decisions are so ridiculous and invite claims of injustice - but - stil no excuse for biting ( or stamping )

I was really hoping that you weren't going to defend Suarez, and as my reading of your thread progressed I became more comforted.

All the arguments about comparisons with injury causing tackling etc are irrelevant to a large degree because that is part of the game, and although there have been some dreadful tackles over the years it is very hard to prove INTENT to injure.

I don't think it's difficult to prove intent if you bite someone, and to the best of my knowledge it isn't yet part of the game. Mind you, that way that holding and shirt pulling has become accepted over the years (and now, it seems, taking out defenders who might get to your player who is about to shoot at goal) it might only be a matter of time.

If Liverpool and Suarez don't like it then given him the option - 10 games as it stands, or 3 games and have all his teeth taken out and not be allowed to wear his false set while on a football pitch.

    Don't worry - it's not World War 3

Looks like that this years Champions League final will be an all German affair.
As much as I like to watch Barcelona, I have to admit that the dynamic approach by Bayern & Dortmund has been refreshing - at least we should get a winning team who hasn't spent 89 minutes defending.

Suarez eh, what is Liverpool winging about?

Two fans at Priestfield run on the pitch, twats maybe but obviously just for a laugh and certainly no violence or intent involved. 3 year ban.

Then that idiot during the televised game. 5 year ban.

If that was a supporter televised biting another fan, his front door as portrayed by TV yesterday, would have had its hinges ripped off by the police to arrest the suspect.

While Suarez only gets a minor 10 match ban. Yes, harsh in my old traditional football standards, but welcome to the modern era.

In view of the ' previous ' history of Suarez, would it have been unreasonable of Liverpool FC to have a clause written into his contract that automatically financially punished him if he was found guilty of certain types of ' behaviour. '
Can it be right that Suarez continues to receive his wages whilst Liverpool FC are deprived of his services for a quarter of a season ? If a player is injured the club would probably be insured - but I doubt if any insurance company would underwrite any claim in this situation.

edit... Something in my head says that clubs can fine players a maximum of 'only' two weeks wages. This is hardly going to deter most players of the likes of Suarez - whose entire wages for the duration of his ban should be witheld.

Reporter: Has Suarez let you down?
    Rodgers: No not at all...

WTF do you need to do disappoint that man? Maybe take a second bite??

Also Rodgers criticised the FA for punishing the man not the incident... I think that was the point, he may have a point if Suarez didn't have a history of biting!!

I think for something like this there should be a law that allows them to not pay him for the whole time he is not playing, that may teach him, maybe not but something needs to be done as he keeps doing things wrong and that will deny him of the chance of becoming respected. I think he is a bit of an idiot doing this as he has been one of the top players in the Premiership this season.
