I'm surprised there's been so much attention and fear that he will leave through what is essentially a rumour in a paper.

MA has been fantastic this season and rightly deserves to be in the spotlight for managerial vacancies. But at the moment Sheff U are a League 1 club and I don't see them as favourites to win the play-offs. So assuming they are in L1 with us next season then I can't see any reason why he would want to go there. In an interview earlier on in the season, he said he went for the money (when he went to Leicester) and said that was one of the worst decisions he made in his managerial career so I don't think money would concern him.

Had we have finished mid-table then I could see why he may go. However, I believe Martin is genuinely happy here and with a promotion and league championship secured in his first season, there's no reason to suggest that he couldn't take us further up the footballing pyramid. He has a good relationship with "Mr. Scally" who has always backed him so far and I think he will value all those things over a "big money job" at a "big" club and then end up on the dole 6 months later waiting for the call from the Barnet chairman.

I think Martin Allen has learned from his mistakes so now hopefully he has found his home and he will be here for years to come. Hopefully he will be at the club for years as there is never a dull moment with him.

I don’t think it would necessarily be for the money on a personal level, they are a big club and I am guessing that he would have more funds available to develop the team than here at the gills. It would not be a too unrealistic chance for him to do a Southampton or Norwich and get back to back promotions to the premiership.

You couldn’t blame him either. Managers are soon sacked when under performing so when things are going well they need to consider their options.

It would be a worry for us I feel, because its mad dogs organisation, more than the quality of players per se, that has got us where we are. A season of transformation could end in relegation.

I so hope he stays but if he doesn’t what a year he has given us!

MA strikes me as someone that honours a gentle men's agreement and he has just that with Scally that he wouldn't leave unless it was for a premiership club. However he will be linked we every vacancy that comes up in league 1 and the championship this summer I have no doubt
