The new money from the TV deal should be ring-fenced for infrastructure and off the field activities. At least that might reduce the foundations of sand that the Premiership is built on from turning into foundations of quick-sand, perhaps.
Pompey fans have now got what they wanted. It is truly "their" club and it is for them to get on and show the world they can do it. It's time for them and us to move on so can we give this thread a rest and come back in the new season and see how things have panned out?
Actually, I think the questions being posed by Saints fans on here have been of a better and more probing quality than by the local media. Now is the time to ask these questions, especially by Pompey fans who are not fully convinced to believe everything their hear from the PST "without question". The media should be laying out exactly how the club is owned & run because they are conveying the general public that its 100% owned by "ordinary fans" which simply is not the case.
Regardless of how effective or not the PST will be at running the club, they can't be much worse than Chainrai/Al-Faraj/etc probably so you've gotta give them that at least.
No where has it been said that the club is going to be owned 100% by "ordinary fans" - in fact, how do you generalise what an "ordinary fan" is? Its has always been put in the press and media that the PST is made up of "everyday fans putting in £1000 and Portsmouth supporting HNWI's". Surely anyone can be a fan, no matter of their net worth? And who is to say that the HNWI's are not "ordinary fans"? They are Pompey fans with more money than most who have put in more money than most. I do not see the need to discriminate against them because they have been sucessful in their own personal fortune gains. I think you have been a little presumptious, if not valid due to our previous regimes, in your comments there CBK.
and so chanari was a ordinary fran as well !! he supported you with £16M even if his motives were to eventually make some money.
I think you have missed my point - we are talking about the PST, not Chanrai who we know was NOT a Pompey fan.
Did anyone else hear that another 12 HNWI's have put in 1.9m into the club? Surely the HNWI's will want a bigger percentage now?
The fans have put in £1.9m and "own" 54% of the club as figures released today show. It has also been revealed that the HNWI's are unable to receive dividends or take money form the club. All promising in my opinion. Oh, and Channers "falling in love with the club"? Media hubbub - he always wanted his money - nothing else. He wouldn't have given a damn had the football club folded. No one ever believed it and rightly so.
The Daily Snooze? When is not messing up? Here is a link to todays article regarding the 11 presidents and the figures: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/mcinnes-pompey-came-so-close-to-liquidation-many-times-1-5033307 Yes, it is from the Snooze but I will take the quotes as they come - seems pretty reasonable and also shows what these HNWI's have done for us a club.
There was rumours doing the rounds on Twitter last week after the court case that someone had pledged 50 shares instantly - not HNWI level obviously, but still a fair whack of anyones money! Maybe south today got confused......although we all know they have been Red and White bias for years now!
Can't agree with that last statement, they only report on us when they have to, not because of any bias. As for Meridian, with Fred at the helm we have never had a look in.
Agree with Meridian - hence why I didn't mention them - however, I will say, that our court case a couple of weeks ago was covered a hell of a lot more on South Today and wasn't even mentioned on Meridian!
