West Brom link spurred on QPR winger By Paul Warburton Apr 25 2013 JUNIOR Hoilett reckons the QPR manager who tried to loan him to West Brom in January has helped make him a better player. Harry Redknapp wanted the 22-year-old winger to be part of a switch involving Albion striker Peter Odemwingie. Hoilett stayed put, and the bonus is the benefit of Redknappâs experience. âHeâs a man of considerable calibre when it comes to managers,â said Hoilett. âHeâs taken me aside and told me how to improve, and you always take notice of that kind of advice." Mark Hughes, who knew all about the Canadian international from their time together at Blackburn, originally signed the player last summer. Hoilett was âdisappointedâ when Sparky had to make way for Harry in November, but reckons both have different qualities. âMark was quieter and is essentially a new youngish manager,â he said. âHarry comes ready made but I admire them both.â Rangers are all but down and out, but Hoilett insists it wonât stop the team going all out to get a win at similarly doomed Reading on Sunday. âIt wonât stop us going for three points, and despite all else the squad is as determined as ever,â he added. Do these guys really believe what they are saying? This guy has been a major let down. Hopefully he will come good in the championship.
I'd hate to see him when he can't be arsed if his recent performances and the result of him being Spurred on!
This is such incredibly poor timing given his truly abysmal performance on Saturday. It's hard to believe that HR isn't sharpening the knife for him on the basis of that game alone.
I hope Hoilett is sold - one of the worst players this season - at least Park and Granero have had a decent game on the odd occaision.
Really - I'd be looking for considerably more given that determination levels so far this season have lead us to be relegated.
Had such high hopes for young Hoilett. Fantastic prospect in the first half, home to Swansea... Where did it go wrong? Second half home to Swansea! Never recovered imho. PS. Has anyone told him the only thing this lots been determined about is clinging on to P20?
We''l never know how different things might have turned out if he'd agreed to go to WBA which would have sealed the arrival of Odemwingie. Couldn't have turned out any worse as Hoillet did naff all from them onwards
