Given Nigel's growing reputation in the game, it wouldn't be a complete surprise if he got a fantastic offer from another club. I'm not sure he would go, but in a worst-case scenario who would we get to replace him, I can't see many managers out there who I'd fancy taking us forward?
I'd like to say this before TWF. Boo Hiss to Nigel Pearson! He's crap! He can **** off to West Ham! He's done nothing for us! NOTHING I TELL THEE! Good riddance to bad rubbish I say! Get Mourinho in! Sign Messi! Sign Ronaldo! Sign Pelé!
Haha was arguing with a guy once and he walked into a lamppost, shame nobody got that on Youtube! As for Pearson's replacement, I've racked my brains and can't think of anybody who we would get in who is available that would do better than big Nige
All the way up to being eligible to manage teams competing in the Europa and Champions League. He needs to start lower down the ladder and prove his worth before he's going to get a Championship club. All academic, as Pearson's going nowhere.
I heard Windass on the radio the other day saying he had applied for loads of jobs, but the chairmen (or those conducting the interviews) don't seem to take him seriously due to his reputation as a joker and he thinks it's holding him back from entering management at a decent level. Can't see anything in this Pearson to West Ham stuff. ps Scooter - stay off the HDM site, it's bad for your blood-pressure.
Avram Grant hes got a good record. Souness- He spent nearly ã50m on a relegation battle at Newcastle, and told Deco he wasn't going to cut it at Benfica - replacing him with Sheffield Wednesday's Mark Pembridge Glenn Roeder- Took down a squad containing David James, Joe Cole, Fredi Kanouté, Paolo Di Canio and Jermain Defoe at West Ham in 2003 and my main target would be.... Claude Anelka- after being an agent to his "restless brother Nicolas and fed up with the crazy things he saw managers do" Claude Anelka decided he wanted to be a boss himself. He offered ã300,000 to any lower-league club who would let him be manager, and got a taker in Raith Rovers, in Scottish Division One. One of his signings was from the Paris seven-a-side leagues - he brought just one point from 24 before he stepped aside.
I'm not surprised Deano is having trouble being taken seriously, he rarely takes himself seriously, but I think someone will take a punt on him at some point. I take my HDM posting with a large pinch of salt, I've mainly taken to posting sarcastic remarks nowadays. I notice that TonyM has ceased responding to my posts, I think I must have upset him at some point.
Well, if Nigel does go (which he won't, so it's alright) then I suppose the club would be better served promoting from within it's current structure. So if he left and took his staff with him, I'd go in this order. Nick Barmby (Player/Manager - we have a good history with those) Sean Rush (Apparently physios are decent managers) Me (Just like Andre Villas Boas, I've never played in a professional football game (semi pro though ) but I would probably do it for nothing and let the fans help with a fair few decisions.) Roary the Tiger - (Has the fans on his side and knows the team well. Has been a cornerstone of Hull City for a fair amount of time and he knows the playing staff well) Ehab Allam (I hadn't heard him speak until recentley; I was expecting a sort of broken English, but his accent is brilliant and would make for great Post match media interviews. I also hear he has a good relationship with the current chairman.) So you see, a contingency plan is in place if good ol' (young?) Nige ever does depart us. I do not expect a response from the club anytime soon.
Chris Hughton. Though I still think we made a mistake in employing Nigel Pearson instead of Nigel Adkins. Nigel Pearson's not that bad, he's just not that good either. A middle of the road manager that won't get a team relegated but in all likelihood won't get them promoted either.
I'm abit on the fence with Pearson, I don't think he's a brilliant manager of the game (good but not brilliant) because of his home record. But the transfers he brings in are first class and if he did leave (he won't) I imagine lots of his signings wold leave with him.
I can confidently report that Waggy and Chillo will not be in the frame as a dynamic duo, nor Brown and Ashbee.
TWF actually makes a good point about Adkins but I'd sooner have Pearson and his management team at the club, and in any case Southampton will not be letting Adkins go any time soon.
Phil Parkinson could do that. I meant from the Championship, though I suspect you knew that. God yes.
