Personally, I dont agree with a single word of this. Diving to cheat has been prevalent in this country for decades, yet the little Englanders insist it is a foreign problem. In the 70s Francis Lee was hailed and roundly cheered as being 'clever' at knowing when to fall to win a penalty. But when a dirty, cheating Dago does it then it's a disgrace and goes against all the fair play English stand for. And I still maintain Michael Owen's dive against Argentina is the most blatant example of cheating to win a decisive penalty i have seen in my entire life. Funny how it never gets a mention eh?
Whoever just merged this thread, I made a post which disappeared with the merger, it was in the original Suarez thread. Can you put it back in place of this one please? Ta
I don't know if anyone has brought this up already, but it's not the first time he bit someone. He bit Otman Bakkal when he played for Ajax back in 2011. What a freak.
I was going to post this myself. He is just such a total ****. Everyone knows Ribery and Robben are cheating ****s Agree with that although I have a man crush on Jordi Alba so I'm upset you've put him in there (I didn't see the game so I'm not doubting he did something dodgy). OK some of this is bollocks but I'll let others take care of that. Diving in England is definitely becoming more common in recent years. It used to be frowned upon but now you get pundits saying "He's entitled to go down." I hate that phrase. You should never go down by choice. A free kick is a consolation not a choice. Tricksy definitely has a point though. Some foreign games you watch are just ridiculous with the amount of stoppages. The worst for me is African football. It really is just constant free kick after free kick, contact is almost forbidden. I remember seeing a game on telly in the recent ACoN and the foul count came up and both sides were in the high 20s. It's a joke. The same applies to a lesser extent in Spanish and Italian football and some players are just total ****ers for it. Despite my admiration for Barca I have to say Sergio Biscuits really is the worst. A proper prick.
Well media speculation today has it that Luis Suarez will quit Liverpool for europe to escape being banned at the start of next season. One club he wont be joining though is SPORTING Lisbon. one link is here www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/311077/Suarez-set-to-quit-Liverpool/
It should only count in England, so should he go and return at a later date he'd still have the ban to serve. Although with it being a more serious offence and punishment maybe the FA can demand the ban goes with him.
The radio report definitely said it goes with Suarez if he leaves. Didn't Barton's ban travel with him to France?
Depends on UEFA and FIFA. It may but i am not sure. Whatever happens like he needs help and quick. However, The ban wont stop Suarez who can play in all pre-season games and reserve games as well as Internationals.
Yes it did. Maybe then, Liverpool should Loan Suarez to the MLS until it ends. The yanks appear to have there own rules.
"FIFA rules on the application of player bans, where they move to a new club, clearly state that any sanctions would be transferred with a player to any new league. The ruling means the 10 match ban given to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez would still apply if he was sold to another club in the summer. The Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players Article 12, Enforcement of disciplinary suspensions, states: “Any disciplinary suspension imposed on a player prior to a transfer must be enforced or applied by the new association at which the player is registered. The former association is obliged to notify the new association of any sanction in writing and upon issuing the ITC [International Transfer Certifcate]. – FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players Article 12, Enforcement of disciplinary suspensions" I can't see any club buying him if he is to miss the first 6 games for them
There is more cheating abroad than here, if that makes me a Little Englander then will just have to take it like a man! Of course it's impossible to measure stuff like this but the impression I get watching foreign leagues and then watching our leagues is that cheating is much more prevalent and even acceptable to some degree abroad.
Some English players dive, no doubt about it, Young is terrible for it. But there's a higher percentage of foreign players who dive, hence the reputation. Particularly the Irish, that Meyler bloke is shocking.
I watch some MLS and they dont really dive. They sure roll around on the ground after they are tackled but they are at least hit before they go down.
