Good post Poolie, because people are still saying we need to spend big this summer and It boils my piss. We don't need to spend big, we need the right players!!
Not sure what you mean by a good scouting network. Pisczek = Hertha Berlin Germany Hummels = Bayern Munich Germany Subotic = Mainz 05 Germany (Kloppe was coach and brought him with him) Bender = TSV1860 Germany Gundogen = FC Nuremburg Germany Reus = Borrusia Muchengladbaack Germany (but was a Dortmand youth player) Bottom line is for me 1: English players play primarily in England but there is a premium on them, German players play primarily in Germany but there is not a premium on them hence = cheaper. 2: got nothing to do with a scouting network or at least their is better than ours, even we know the players in the PL you dont need scouts to tell you who is good and who is **** in the same division you play in. 3: Lewendowski was on the radar for a few including Blackburn as he scored 32 in 58 games for poznan again you dont need a scout to say hey this kid has talent if you are a manager you should just know he has with that sort of record.
That's rubbish Steve. Alves had a better record in the dutch league, he is ****e and done ****e over here
how is that ****e lewendowski could have been ****e, when you hear of them, and then buy them you dont know they are going to be ****, only when they come over and are **** is when you realise they are ****. If you take everything off alves you would never buy any players at all there is a risk element involved with any player, even Ronaldo could have went to madrid, broke his leg and never been the same player again, you just never know.
but you say alves was **** 42 games 10 goals in 1 season for boro Fletcher Burnley 35 games 8 goals 1 season Wolves 61 games 22 goals 2 seasons not that much better tbh.
