Fan owned, Profitable, away travel subsidised by council, drinking in the stands, good scouting system, emphasis on youth and team structure (as apposed to 11 individuals)

Bayern or Dortmund, worthy winners. Bundesliga best league for me, La Liga 2nd, PL 3rd.

In German football, the fans come first, the history and image of football clubs is respected.

Great respect for the German league.
Internationally too, Germany are the only team I can see competing with Spain for cups in the immediate future.

  3. You're right, DL, this is a victory for football. It's great to see two sides (Bayern and Dortmund) actually beat Barca and Real by playing actual football.
    <ok>

Well done to both German teams.

I always said out of the 4 semi finalists I'd be happy whoever won it as long as it wasn't Barca.

Dortmund - Always had a soft spot for them, admire everything about the way they are run from top to bottom.

Madrid - Hate the club but like the team. Jose is there too.

Bayern - Newfound respect after their reaction to defeat last year, also the best in Europe for me and have been unlucky in recent finals.

Not sure I agree. Spain is a 2 horse race year after year and Germany could be heading the same way with those 2 winning the last 4 years and for the foreseeable future Bayern will dominate.

See your point but isn't the PL the same with United and City?

Did they win it last year?

The PL has had 3 different winners in the last 4 years.
La Liga has had the same 2 for the last 9 years
Bundesliga same 2 for the last 4 years.

    That's the point <doh>

And Bayern are 20 pts ahead ManU 16 so you're wrong there too.

Not wanting to speak for DL, but I can see his point. The German teams walloped the Spanish teams 4-0 and 4-1 by playing significantly better football. The class and quality is obvious, and both German Clubs are a model of fan involvement and Administration. Add to that no PL clubs still in the CL and it's obvious that the order is Bundesliga 1 La Liga 2 PL 3, at least it is to me.

Not quite seeing how that means their league is better? This year it means their teams have done better in Europe but that doesn't reflect on the excitement of the league. How is a 2 horse race in Spain better?

the gap between us and City will be 13 points maximum looking at the fixtures and its the same in La Liga but it is 20 points difference in the Bundesliga.

I've been watching the Bundesliga quite a bit this season (whatever has been on ESPN and the highlights on mondays) and the quality of football in general is far better than the PL. PL has much better entertainment value, but I'm probably only saying that because my team is in it and I live here.

  17. Indeed.

It must be a bit like the Scottish league used to be for the Scots (before Rangers went tits-up). Very dull.

Love the irony of a Chelsea fan taking about "victory for football" in this sense.

Scudamore must be filling his pants that all these Germans coming to Wembley might try to spead their dangerous ideas about responsible fan-serving owners.

I disagree, the standard in the Bundesliga is poorer than the Premier League, in my opinion. There are only 3 sides with organised defences in the league and unsurprisingly they make up the top 3, other than that it's a bit of a free for all with each side having a good, fast attack and taking it in turns to counter as each side over commits. QPR and Reading aside, the Premier League has been strong this season, as much as some will say United have been poor champions, they might be far ahead of everyone but they've had to battle very hard in a lot of games to get their points. It's not been the best season for several big Premier League clubs but the quality overall, is still at a high level.
