Racially abuse a guy? 8 games. Bite him? 10 games

Sure Ben Thatcher only got 6 games.

Given the witchunt Terry faced I actually have some sympathy with Suarez. It seems the FA are beyond parody now and just puppets to the media. The media demanded a ban for Terry, and a lengthy ban for Suarez. They also demanded a lengthy ban for Hazard and then when ex-pros and managers spoke out in support of him, quickly changed their tune and the FA then backed off as opposed to the extension on the ban they were going to give.

I can't stand Ollie Holt but the one thing I agree with him on is, are we punishing the offence or the offender? Terry and Suarez were quite clearly cases of people being pursued because they were disliked as opposed to the actual offences committed. Proof lies in the pudding with the FA appealing to UEFA to reduce Rooney's ban for kicking out at a Montenegro player, no action for Rio for clamping Torres and no action against Matt Ritchie for kicking out at ballboy but 3 games for Hazard when it's on Sky cameras in view of millions.

It's not what you've done but who you are and who you play for that dictates your punishment, entirely wrong.

Deserves it imo. I'd have given 6 for the act and a further 3/4 for his previous actions. The guy is a scummy cheating little rat, hope he ****s off in the summer.

I think he has mental problems. It can't be normal for someone to bite a player on 2 separate occasions and feign injury. He isn't right in the head, for that reason alone I don't hate him.

Thatcher got a 6 game ban with a further 15 games suspended ban for two years.

The idea that the FA went after Terry because he's disliked (by who?) is laughable, by the way.
How many times have we seen senior England players getting away with things because of who they are?

10 games is surprisingly long, but Suarez does keep doing stupid ****. If he doesn't learn from initial punishments, then it's perfectly normal for greater punishments to be dished out.
If a player's sent off once this his ban is lower than a player that's already been sent off, even if they do exactly the same thing to earn their dismissals.

Agree up to the bit in bold, he really has a screw loose. It's a shame because he's a wonderful player. It's not just the biting for me, he's an out and out cheat.

The Media & everyone that doesn't support Chelsea.

Do you honestly think the FA would have bent their own rules to suspend say, a Bolton player or even Rooney?

There's no way 8 games for racism and 10 for biting can be justified, how must Patrice Evra feel?

That's true. But like I said, previous convictions aren't helping his cause. If a player in a lower team had bitten someone it wouldn't be 10.

That's the price that teams in the public eye pay, though. They gain extra revenue and extra publicity, but sometimes they get used as an example.
If it had happened in a 3pm Saturday kick-off between Barnet and Wimbledon, then virtually nobody would've seen it.
Doing it in the Sky flagship game on Sunday guaranteed a reaction from the FA. Everybody heard about it, so they have to be seen to be doing something.
If they'd have let it pass without much of a punishment, then they'd be getting criticism for going easy on ****ty behaviour.

I think Ivanovic and Chelsea deserve some credit from this fiasco. Chelsea have previous for whipping up storms after incidents but your club couldn't have handled this any better, I'd even go as far as to say Rafa Benitez handled it well too. Ivanovic could have pressed charges or dragged this out but you guys need to focus on your remaining games and see if you can finish top 4 and win the European trophy on offer. Good luck with both. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Pretty sure he's played his last game for Liverpool...

Barcelona are probably looking to replace David Villa

3, I think. 3 games for the first and an additional game for each of the others. 3+4+5= 12.

But its not that, its 10 games for having previous. Holland he got 7 and didn't learn. Evra he got 8 and didn't learn. 10 is actually quite lenient.

When you look back and wonder at all the brilliant players we have had in the premiership who have excited and thrilled us like Zola, Bergkamp, Ronaldo, Drogba etc. We must also have those who are scum and do nothing to enhance the game like Saurez, Rio Ferdinand, Barton and other such air wasters.

    Get rid <ok>

The Media gave Suarez his 10 games ban, whether or not anyone says he deserves it. Make of that what you will
