Which Everest would you prefer to climb?

    1. 46 games in a league which has proven to be a graveyard for clubs relegated from the Premier League ( with very few exceptions), regarded as being one of the toughest leagues around and where it is quite possible that we could wallow there for many seasons to come (or worse, a lower league)

    2. Trying with all our heart to win just 4 games in the next few weeks and depending on results elsewhere, possibly surviving and avoiding the drop?

Yes I know it's a very long shot but ask yourself this; what team in the Championship (ok, promoted teams aside) would not wish with all their hearts to be in our very position right now, actually having the chance over 4 games only to play in the PL next year?

I see your point. It's a good thing that we will have the opportunity of climbing both of these Everests...

GC, in absolute term you are right of course. However, to stick with your analogy, we are trying to climb Everest at present in shorts, sandals, a Hawaiian shirt and a bar of Kendal Mint Cake in case we get hungry over the ascent!

With next year's climb we may be better equipped at least to give it a better go.

Everest is about us winning four games AND the others pretty much losing them all. **** Everest dreams, we should be playing to win anyway just for the sake of R pride. Unfortunately, that's something we've only seen from those players who like us can't do much about it.

Time to forget the prem and concentrate on breaking our fall to avoid the abyss of the lower leagues.

Four belated wins in the prem would (hopefully) go some way to preparing for an early recovery next term. Anything else and that abyss gets closer.

Had new years eve once at the house of the heir to the kendal mintcake fortune, nice guy, let me sit in his Ferrari. I've also been up a bit of Everest, much less stressful than following QPR.

I think we have a chance to win 4 games now the pressure is basically off, but I cant see Villa losing all 4 so it will be in vain. I think that we'll rot in the NPC without massive changes and I dont think that HR is the man to make those changes in the right way. I really hope I'm wrong but I see him being backed with quite a bit of cash once more and basically wasting it on 30+ players who even if we get promoted would put us in the exact same position as we are now.

Can't quiet agree with that for two reasons. Townsend and Jenas. If they are a marker of the sort of player that Harry might bring in, I would give him a chance. They are what we've been crying out for. Lean, mean and hungry to win.

Villa wouldn't have to lose all four, but they would have to get no more than two draws.
