    He may be out of form but I still reckon he's better than Barca's wingers at the moment. It was Robben/pedro, Lahm/Alves and alba/alaba that I struggled with though.

    Mandzukic would have started if he wasn't suspended. That doesn't mean Gomez isn't very good. You don't have a goal scoring record like his if you are ****.

    Always thought Barcelona might struggle tonight but unless Bayern can at least get another one, you would still fancy them to do the business at home.

    This is the problem you're going to have when you only have one proper striker who's not fit and you have two players over six foot tall in your side against a side with six or seven.

    Air of inevitability about it all. Away goal absolutely vital for Barca now, if the score remains at 2-0 or worse it will take an absolutely monumental effort at Camp Nou.

    I would have brought Villa on for Messi at half-time if not earlier. All very well sitting around and hoping for a moment of magic but the fact is that Messi is yet to have broken out of a light jog and Bayern are perfectly happy to try and kick lumps out of him. He's a fantastic player but they are handicapping themselves by keeping him on the pitch.
