The Cantillon horse ran a nice race and was bred by Jim Mernagh I notice. He owned and bred Deep Bramble and Alpha Ridge I believe. Wonder why he didn't keep hold of this one. Nico is a big fish in a small pond in the UK but was riding against the cream of the amateur division today.Still a fine horseman.
Master class in unbalancing a horse the whole way round Dex. And Paddy Power has dodged another of my bumper bullets.
Only saw the last half mile Bob...I know Barney loves him but Cantillon should have a local rider on. NDB was probobly the least experienced in that field.
Willie Mullins has just come out and said on Irish TV that Moyle Park didn't really settle into the yard and that is why he bypassed Cheltenham. He went on to say that, compared to the horses he normally runs in Bumpers, that Moyle Park had nowhere near the same amount of work in the run up and it was pure guts and class that got him to win. Add in the fact that he gave the runner up 15lb and the 3rd a stone when taking into account claims and it was a superb performance. Cannot wait to see him over hurdles now and ultimately over fences.
Can't be having Moyle Park as a potential superstar either. There's no way the Cantillon horse is a belter and even if you don't agree the Champ was robbed you still only beat him a length or so. Both will have been 100% primed.
Read above. Willie Mullins said he was nowhere near 100% on Irish TV. Said he has barely settled in and that he hadn't anywhere near the work a bumper horse would have normally have. Add in the pulling and you can ridiculously upgrade that victory. Will have my money at Cheltenham next year if he's as good over a hurdle.
Just away from the world of racing has anyone seen Chris Gayle hit 175 in a IPL Twenty20 from only 66 balls...!!! He hundred came off just 30...!!! That's just ridiculous...!!! Anyway who's gonna win the next...??? Back in Focus is my tentative vote...
Fractured pelvis for Rule The World. There's a chance he could race again, but too early to say for sure. I still say he had that before he started the race.
