Then he needs to put the shifts if he wants to be the main man!

Correct. Have no desire for him to leave and he still has a lot to offer i.e. that pass to RVP last night being an example; but if he wants more praise and indeed money, start earning it!

Rooney can still be the main man. I don't think RVP is the look at how good I am type of guy, he's here to help us win games and trophies, and that's why he wants to be here. It's not to increase his marketing worth or to boost his ego. If Rooney wants the headlines RVP has been getting, he just has to step up and earn them.

Exactly RVP seems to play for the team while Rooney flits in and out of the game, great pass, then stops, second half he is off! It's that simple! RVP came in hit the ground running apart from a baron spell(still played for the team). Rooney does have a future but he needs to grab it before he ends up like Nani, and fergie loses complete faith in him!

Hold on here a minute, are we talking about the same player?

Rooney has had a minor lull in form, he is far from workshy and always puts in a shift. Always.

It's mad to suggest otherwise, he's carried the side countless times over the last six years, including this season.

He is not the same player as we had before, the lull in form doesn't bother me, he just seems distracted, for me now the title is over, play Rooney in the position he loves, then we may see the old Rooney, playing him in midfield isn't really him, he can play passes like he did last night from anywhere so let's just see

Most of us were responding to whoever said Rooney might feel he's been pushed out of the spot light by RVP, and is fed up with not being the "big star." But can you honestly Rooney has brought the same intensity this season, that he has in seasons past?
