Elmohadamy, who plays as a right wing back for Hull has been awarded player of the year by Hull fans. http://www.clubcall.com/hull-city/promotion-would-now-be-icing-on-cake---elmohamady-1580708.html? Hull defender Ahmed Elmohamady saluted manager Steve Bruce after being named player of the year by the club's fans. The Egypt international, 25, who received his trophy at the club's end-of-season awards dinner on Sunday night, now wants to round off a successful first season at the KC Stadium by securing promotion. "It has been a big season here," said wing-back Elmohamady, who initially joined Hull on loan from parent club Sunderland in August before extending his stay until the end of the season in January. He added on the club's official website: "I have to say thank you to my team-mates for helping me to win the award at the weekend and of course to the fans of Hull City for the support they have given me. "I just hope that we can go on and get promoted at the weekend now." Bruce was manager of Sunderland when the Black Cats signed Elmohamady from Egyptian side ENPPI in July 2010. "It was a big decision for me to come here," Elmohamady said. "But I have to thank the manager for bringing me here. He was also the one that brought me over from Egypt to play in England. "The manager also brought Gedo and Fathi here and they have been fantastic for us. It's great to see Egyptian players in the English league." Tigers midfielder Stephen Quinn, in his first season at Hull after signing from Sheffield United in the summer, was named the club's players' player of the year. It will be interesting to see what PDC makes of him in the pre-season. I presume he wont be sold to Hull until PDC has had a chance to judge him. If he is any good, and we manage to sign Rose on a permanent could our full back positions be sorted out? Rose, Bardo, Elmo with Colback and Gardner as backup.
ah, but now he has played in the championship and admittedly done well. We should forget our poor he looked at premier league level and give him another chance, because now he is suddenly good enough....
Hull player of the year? First prize: freedom of Hull for a year. Second prize: freedom of Hull for two years. Sorry Hull. NOT!
He's a good championship player , wait till hull come up they will soon see his short falls, but as I've always said he does try hard though
from @YoungSunEcho Chris Young twitter @SunderlandAFC11 There's a clause in the loan deal to make it permanent if they (Hull City) go up
Isnt the entire point of loaning foreign players and youth players out to lower league sides is so that they can improve? PDC will make a judgement on whether or not that is the case or not, but why write him off now? Otherwise why bother loaning players out if it is not for them to improve? I never got why Elmo was so much of a scapegoat, he didnt set the world on fire but he wasnt as bad as people make him out to be.
To get them off the wage bill, instead of paying them to sit about waiting for their contract to expire. It seemed to have been decided he wasn't good enough for the club and by loaning him out, it also puts him in the shop window, if he does well.
Pretty sure the agreed fee (conditional to us going up) was less than £2.5 million. It was quoted as being between £1 million and £1.5 million. I know a lot of you were happy to see Elmo go but he's done a great job at City. You only have to look at our drop in form in January whilst he was recalled to see how important he is to us. Don't know if you lot ever played him as a wing-back but it would seem that's his preferred role. He's been superb all season up until the last 5/6 weeks where his form has tailed off somewhat and a few of us think he may be carrying a knock.
