Dai Your Wums and Liverpool

Dilli - do you think he'll listen to you - many of us have tried - when he says he doesn't wum - he means it - he is just a few bricks short and actually believes ML is crap. I once asked why he only posted articles that said we are going to lose half our players and why he always has to refer to Liverpool - response - silence

 

thing is he talks sense half the time then the rest is devoted to derailing threads re br and liverpool, i have left my thoughts with the other mods

 

Lumber, no I don't think he will listen but someone had to try. It seems by the response on here that he either doesn't care or can't see what's going to happen. He's making life impossible for the mods, he's now had a final warning and I expect he will get himself banned sooner rather than later. He will only have himself to blame

 

I think they call it stealth trolling, some points will be valid but there will be details that are designed to cause a bit on controversy so somebody will bite.

 

Ok my 2 peneth for what it is worth. I am fed up to my back teeth of so many threads being derailed and it always seems to end up as a BR or liverpool issue, no matter what the original thread was about. I know i am not the biggest poster on here, but now if i see any thread where he has posted i read up to that point and then simply close it as i know it will have been ruined and sidelined towards his beloved br.

I dont want anyone band, but for me the wuming has to stop. this board was getting back to why i choose to come on here. but i find myself being less and less inclined.

 

Its the purposeful derailing of threads that stops me posting more, we all know we are a little fish doing well with a organised cheap group of players, none of these 20M+ players the big teams have but to see most threads being derailed that we are actually not a very good team at all and our manager is awful starts to get on your nerves.

 

It's the derailing and the utter contempt for other people's views that does it for me. There is no way he genuinely believed that we should sack ML, so that shows that he just likes to be provocative for the sake of winding people up.

It's good for debate to have opposing views but he is the lone voice and never has anything positive to say, it's becoming such a chore coming to this site because I always end up logging off angry and that's no way to ensure members stick around.

I know you were trying to avoid a witch hunt, but I fear that's what it has become. However the only reason that's the case is because so many members have had enough and it's a single person that's causing the friction.

I'm afraid I can't offer a solution as I fear there is little that can be done to change his attitude.

 

I don't think it's become a witch hunt. In fact I think everyone has remained very restrained under the circumstances but one thing shining through to me is that everyone has had enough and have said so. I think it's safe to say that Dai is in last chance saloon.

 

I'm sure from Dai's point of view it will feel like everyone ganging up on him though. As long as he understands the reasons everyone is so exasperated and tries to change his attitude a little then this will be worth while, but I can see him just thinking witch-hunt and he'll respond accordingly.

 

I had no idea everyone in Wales was so sensitive! Why has he got under all of your skins? I've read quite a few of his posts in my time on N606, been on the wrong end of some wind ups when the Saints were doing pretty bad, but he never calls people name or delivers personal attacks. Yeah, maybe the repeating of the same points can be tedious, but surely we are all grown up enough to look beyond that. Is this a good time to remind you all there is an ignore button? Can't say I've ever used it, but I've heard it works.

 

Sorry to appear rude, but I'd ask you to butt-out of stuff you don't know enough about. He HAS called people names and does deliver personal attacks - often questioning people's intelligence rather than argue his case coherently or logically. He is incredibly condescending and rude and makes no attempt to actually discuss different opinions.

Many of us have tried the ignore button, but that is often pointless as not everyone has this switched on and when he starts an argument those people respond meaning all those using the ignore button are still subjected to threads being derailed.

You could say "why don't you all put him on ignore then" and if that's the case you really have to question what the point of him even being on the forum is at all? It's also asking the majority to work to accommodate the single minority.

Not looking for a fight HistoryRepeating, but this is something we are trying to deal with on our own board and don't really need input from other supports.

 

Fair enough. I've seen him wind up the Qpr board really bad, but never trying to insult people individually, obviously if that's the case then there's an issue that needs dealing with. If you all think the same about him, I can't even imagine what enjoyment he gets from posting on here? Anyway, that's my penny, fair-well.

 

Everything Norfolk says is 100% spot on. I can't understand his logic at all. Ignore doesn't work because everything and everyone kicks off. I wish he would stop but he won't and I can only see this ending one way

 

I don't want it to end one way personally a when he's not on a wind up, he makes some constructive posts.

All I can all of him is he takes this final warning for what it is.

 

Dai has been the subject of a witch hunt for some considerable time,and I posted an article on the very subject during my VETCHETARIAN days. I can't reproduce it since it has disappeared from my computer due to it's malfunction.Hopefully,some will remember it. I ruffled a few feathers at the time,but no problem.

I was in no way defending Dai,since more often than not he is quite indefensible,but he should at all times be allowed to air his points of view and opinions,even if his is a lone voice.
Yes,he does insult people;he is rude and bombastic;he does question people's intelligence, even mine on one occasion,which I dealt with.
You only have to read his input to see that he is not the sharpest tool in the box,but he is still entitled to his say,and some of what he says has considerable credence.

Cast your mind back to last year. Dai was not posting,and had gone missing for some time. There was much speculation as to what had happened to him. The simple truth is that most people missed the contankerous old bugger,and it showed.
He was in the U.S. boring the Yanks senseless, and he had left a big void here. There was much joy in evidence when he eventually returned to the fold.

I could go on,but I think my point is made,this Forum will be the poorer for his absence. Love him,or loathe him,(and many do),he adds colour and controversy, and all Forums need those two elements more than any other.

Sorry,folks,but to ban him is wrong. I'd ban aber,who is CLEARLY more anti Swans' than Dai,but aber is welcomed here like a lost relative. Dai adds value here,whilst aber adds NOTHING.

 

This double posting is really irritating. I actually editted out the second one,bit it's back. Somebody in authority must have been really impressed with it!!!

 

I wouldn't want Dai banned Vetch but I wish he wouldn't derail posts - its so bloody annoying!

I sense your frustration and annoyance,glam,but by now you must surely know his style. He can only derail a thread if people respond to him. I pass him by most of the time,occasionally glancing at one of his less long winded efforts. If I see something controversial,I smile,and move on,safe in the knowledge that somebody will bite. You know what you are getting with Dai,or at least you should do. There's no point getting all het up about him,it's bad for your health.
