Can't believe these arseholes are coming through to Holyrood to protest tomorrow. Might boo the ****s when I go past.

Why not. Plenty of fannies in Holyrood anyway.

My problem is that this is not an issue that requires an organised protest outside the Parliament building. This is a minor issue being blown out of all proportion by a group of people who have elevated themselves to a status beyond that of mere football fans with a genuine grumble about being treated unfairly. Surely a representative or two from FAC meeting with MSPs to air their views is enough?

It does not require organising coaches to ferry protesters 45 miles along the M8 to protest outside Holyrood.

They don't think it is enough. They base this on the fact that when these matters have been reported to SNP MSP's their details have been passed directly to the Police.

There were plenty of laws available before the trouble free "shame game" to deal with football hooligans

The SNP creates laws specifically aimed at football fans and they shouldn't protest?

The SNP send details of fans who complain about police harassment...to the police...and they shouldn't protest?

Salmonds quest to make Scotland look like the nicest wee country in the world shouldn't require stormtroopers to achieve it

    Welcome to King Salmonds Scotland

As I said, they're football fans, nothing more. The ****s in FAC, and in the GB in particular, think they're involved in some sort of political struggle against the Establishment.

It's born of a deep-seated feeling of insecurity and paranoia.

They should stick to football and leave the politics at the door.

    FAC are not the GB

If football shouldn't be politicized the politicians need to keep their noses out of it...but how could Salmond defeat sectarianism if he did that?

Football fans are almost as discriminated against as drivers

Correct. Which is why it is wholly appropriate for football fans to address **** legislation aimed specifically against football fans.

Maybe you were not aware before posting this thread that they were not getting satisfaction from their MSP's.

They want to highlight the issue and this is a way of doing that.

You have to remember that ST is not a fan.

He does not go to games.

Another example of his "doesnt matter to me" attitude.

Well, I recall, back when this legislation was coming in that I was pretty vocal in my objection to it as it was thought up on the back of a couple of ******s sending "bombs" to some well known Celtic fans and a Hearts fan lost the rag with Lennon and tried to attack him at Swinecastle.

A knee-jerk legislation brought in to appease the chattering classes with no thoughts given to the lifeblood of the game.

I then consoled myself with the fact that I don't shout offensive chants or phrases when I go to the football so I have nothing to worry about and if some **** can't go to the football and not shout things that are quite obviously (IMO) offensive then, as Jesus would say, **** them.

If Celtic fans sing songs about Celtic, then no problemo, likewise, if Rangers fans sing songs about Rangers, then no problem there either.

The issue here is that the uberfans think that they are better type of fan than us mere mortals. Because they belong in a singing club and live up to the stereotypical Taig/Hun profiles, they are real fans! I got the train to the QP game a couple of weeks ago and I was in a carraige with the Blue Brigade. Just wee guys with "no Surrender" hoodies on drinking Buckie and MD20/20 (RIP). I'd imagine the Groin Order are of the same ilk.

Summary, the law is silly. But so are the offenders.

FAC, driven by the GB. Britain is a country geared towards a car-driven society. To say that drivers are discriminated against highlights your own mental shortcomings.

Oh dear, a bunch of fannies aren't getting the satisfaction they want from elected representatives with better things to do than to appease deluded football fans full of their own sense of self-importance.

Go to the game, support your team for 90 minutes, leave the game, go to the pub, get drunk, go home and hope for a shag off the wife.

That's what most football fans do. But then most football fans aren't deluded ****wits who think that supporting a football team is the same as fighting a political and idealistic cause.

Fannies should have a right to free speech too. How are we able to determine who is a fanny or not if we don't let them speak?
