I imagine it would be pretty hard to sell him for the right price - if Liverpool sell him based on this issue (which I don't agree that they should), teams are going to be offering stupid low values. Which Liverpool can ill afford to do after facing losing so much on Andy Carroll. Rank and base as his behaviour is at all times, what football team can afford to just sell their best player (and one of the world's best at that) for a rival to pick up? He's not being kicked out of the game, he is just being given to a major European rival; at which point no one will care he bit someone (as they didn't really care a few months after he bit the guy at Ajax), and for all anyone knows he'll end up back in the Premiership with Chelsea.
I agree that they won't, but it's about time someone in football stood their ground and did something sensible with a player for once.
Well why would they sell him? He's their best player by a mile. It's not their job to ban him. That's the FA's job.
How is taking a huge financial hit and losing a player you're completely reliant on at the same time sensible exactly? I'd like to see him punished as well, for his consistent foul play as much as for this (he could be sent off in every match if the referee just watched him for 90 minutes), but it's just not realistic to expect Liverpool to commit seppuku over this.
