Sorry NSS - I thought you might have got the wrong end of the stick re: age - as I was talking about Benny!!! Roo - I wouldn't have thought that Higuain would be worth more than €20-25m and if Coentrao is only €14m then I reckon we would be after rather cash on the deal to let Bale go. Cannot imagine that DL would consider less than €50m.
The reason I have even brought Higuain into this, is because without this partnership with Real and the fact that they want Bale, We'd have no chance of getting a striker of Higuain's caliber. If Bale is top of their agenda, the true value monetary of Higuain may never be known, as he's just "part of the deal". It might be our only shot at getting an amazing striker.

I was trying to remember the name of this group only a day or so ago. They pretty much take over blocks 30 and 31 for every home game (that's the corner where the East stand meets the Park Lane stand) and very vocal they are too. For the NextGen game against Barca, they didn't stop chanting all evening. Next Monday at Barnet promises to be noisy and I believe they have been given 'exclusive' use of a nearby pub before the game.
I don't know if this is old news but I popped over to LDA Communications site, after seeing their name mentioned as organising King's Testimonial dinner, and it says that King will be having his testimonial match in 2014. http://www.ldacommunications.com/
For Michael Dawson fans that also like cricket: Why are there people standing in front of him when he's batting 80mph balls and then looking a bit surprised when they're nearly decapitated?
Looks a very decent cricketer and as always, comes over as a really good guy. Great Ambassador for the club and glad he stayed around!!
Back in the 90's I worked one winter with Mark Illott. The outfit I was with at the time sponsored the Essex county side, so one or two of their players were given part time jobs doing P.R, And stuff like that. One evening we all went off to the cricket nets to basically have a little bit of fun. Anyway, somebody dared Mark to let them come down at us full pace. ****ing hell!!..it's like facing a exorcet missile!..I've no idea how these batsmen manage to react in time to something coming at you at that speed.
From what I've read about cricket, the batsmen decide what shot they are going to play before the ball has left the fast bowlers hand. It's impressive stuff.
Only really in 1 day or T20 cricket where you are trying to score runs quickly In a test match they analyze length, direction and what-not in order to make a decision on what to play, whether to go forward, backward, attack, block etc. All with very, very little time. The practicing makes it almost autonomous, there is no time to weigh things up in your head, but shot selection will be based on what is coming at ya.
OK, that's enough cricket talk for one year. Tom Carrol interview: http://www.tottenhamjournal.co.uk/t...urs_exclusive_tom_carroll_interview_1_2023168 Tottenham and Wood Green Journal. Twice in two days. If you want me to keep reading, just keep posting, and I'll bookmark ya.
Twitter this morning: https://mobile.twitter.com/Luis16saurez/status/326028165011095552/photo/1 @Luis16saurez Barton retweeted it. I don't waste my time following mugs like Suarez... [edit] I've been trolled by Barton. Sorry all. It's a fake account.
