I can understand a few freak results such as the VM games, but can't understand this freak season. There will be no season as bad as this and I'll be pleased when this season is over!

Watching the game yesterday I noticed that Remy was a different class to everyone else on the pitch, closely followed by Townsend (these 2 must stay however much it costs), but the rest were awful. Too many individuals and not enough team players. Hoilett take a bow son you truly are Premier League class....Blue Sq Premier League class.

I can't see Remy staying, he's shown real quality in the short time he's been with us and he's good enough to play for any of the Champions League sides. If they meet the release clause price, he's gone.

If Bale is sold Townsend might have a chance at Spurs, it's all down to who qualifies. Whatever happens they won't play in the Championship and who could blame them?...

I've held the view we have been 'unlucky' with near misses etc.

I now hold the view we were not good enough - probably not by much - but certainly not good enough.

One of the sad things is that no correct thinking QPR fan can claim anything other then we are getting what we deserve based on our footballing performance.

It is a weird one though isn't it? We have undeniably not been good enough, but this is possibly the most talented and expensively assembled team to ever get relegated from the Prem!!

    Only at Rangers eh?

Bryan Robsons Middlesboro team that got relegated in the 1996/97 is the most spectacular in terms of money and personel. Ravanelli cost £7 mill in 1996 and scored 17 and was among the top scorers, still they went down. Had players like Emerson(cost £4.75 million in 1996), Juninho (cost £4.75 million in 1995), Branco, Barmby etc. Even managed to lose both the league and FA cup finals on their way down. In the end they got relegated by two points after being deducted 3 points for failing to fulfil a fixture! Crazy story that tops ours imo.

We quite simply don't and have never really done "normal". That has always been part of the allure, probably for all of us.

That's the thing DT and the one area we really differ on - THERE IS NO TEAM TO BE HAD FROM THE REMNANTS OF THIS SQUAD!!!

    Goalkeeper - Dodgy
Defence - Samba/Hill/Ben Haim/Young/Ferdinand - Slow old never have beens, Onouha/Traore/Suk Young - Never will bes
Midfield - Toillett/Granero/Park - unmitigated failures, SWP/Mbia/Diakite/Mackie - Headless chickens, Derry -Slow and too old for NPC, Taraabt - Heart probably no longer with us. Jenas/Faurlin - One never has been and the other now recovering from permanet injuries (Take your pick which one you want to attribute to who) and don't get me started on Monsieur Barton!
Attack - AJ/Zamora - expensive medical experiments, Bothroyd/DJ - could be OK for NPC but have also been abused, Cisse - King of the fruitcakes, Remy - a 1 in 50 chance of keeping him - Do you like those odds?

So, for the life of me, where do you see this team? They all seem to hate each other - they have disdain for us - HR has done nothing to cajole these into a unit and that's regarded as his forte. TF is alos publicly stating some of them are not in it - It's an unmitigated mess which continues far beyond this Season.

I still have this burning question to you DT - Immagine the team of 76 on this lot's money, this lots access to personal training, the advancements to pitch surfaces, the advancements and knowledge of nutritional energy - the possibility of having sporting mentors/psychiatrists and all the other benefits such as refs not allowing defenders to kill off skill - Do you still believe this is the best squad ever assembled at Loftus Road - that the only thing that needs tweaking is bringing in Santini!!!

It is my opinion that if you do, you are perhaps in more need of Saint Eustace - Sorry for the rant - I can put up with heathens slagging off Adel and not seeing what he is and can be - I just cant believe you put these other collective Counts in the same breath as our heroes - And before the others start, I know they are different times that's why I'm saying put the same factors and scenarios for each team!

Rant over - God bless our condemned rrrrrrs

Without doubt I firmly believe this is the best squad of players ever assembled at QPR ... there is no contest and in time most will see that ... you rant is fully understandable and fully merited as our team must be one of the worst ever to under achieve. I think if we were to ask other clubs from the outside they would agree ... There was a lot jealousy about it construction however individual players from our squad will fit straight into any other set up in the division.

I understand that means nothing to us at QPR ... if by magic we could bring back the 76 team then I am afraid they wouldn't make this league today as the game has changed as would any old team in fact ... however what you can draw on is team work ... all great teams of the past have played as a team ... QPR tried buying a foundation as did Chelsea and City ... it didn't work straight off and we tried doing it but cheaper players to simply get a footing we could ythen build on ... Hughes and Redknapp have both got it wrong... as IMO NW would of done any better as he in fact started by dismantling the team spirit he stumbled upon in the first place ... it's a shocker but we have a very good squad now and I believe a more technical manager could get this lot to work easily

I do not agree about what you have said about our players apart from Hill. Even in a team that is winning and full of the most important factor confidence I think Hill would struggle

TF may try and crunch a deal for Townsend with Remy going the other way.

Townsend is too good the Championship so we've no chance of keeping him. I'd put him in the same bracket as Kyle Walker - we never had a prayer of hanging on to him either.
I like what Harry's been saying about getting the right sort of characters in for the Championship and how at Pompey he went for de Zeeuw as he was a leader of men. I feel weirdly confident that Harry can put a decent team together for next season

One glimmer of hope might be that history will repeat itself.

Those older enough, I am barely, will know that the first time QPR rose to the top division they lasted just a season and were relegated after just one season with just 18 points, a record low at the time (only 2 points for a win of course). After a couple of years regrouping in the second division won promotion again and went on to have probably the strongest team in the club's history with 5 regular England internationals, including of course the captain, and finished runners up in the league.
