Heading spelling is wrong I know <sorry>

If the manger thinks the players are mentally /physically tired then god help them , with the season starting in earlier this year with our European adventure. As I've said before too soon with a squad not big enough ( in quality terms).

I posted elsewhere that I disagreed with Michael's intended squad of 22. We will need a minimum of 25 and, in my opinion, our fitness training has to be stepped up a gear.

The Europa takes it out of a team and examples are there for all to see in the form of Toon, previously Stoke and even Spurs. If Spurs found it difficult, how much harder will it be for us?

Yes i remember that ivor and i think i tended to agree with you too. Ivor i have posted a thread about a guy called john sitton, he was a very out spoken coach back in the 90's please have a watch of his interviews if you get the time, they are very insightful, the reason i say this is because he beleives that players struggle to cope with the demands of a regular season let alone a long one, he mentioned stoke playing 50 odd games and that being almost suicidal in the modern game, he talked about fabrice muamba and that there will be other players that will suffer the same fate, he reckoned that if boxers were put through the same kind of stresses as modern day players there would be all kinds of tests taken to make sure they are ok !!

This guy played pro at all levels and he said that the demands of a long season are pretty much impossible to maintain! please try an have a look at this guys interviews Ivor, im sure you would appreiciate some of his views, its on the main page just scrole down <ok>

    I don't think it's physical fatigue though...It's all mental.
Like he says, we reached 40 points, that was our target...And no matter how hard you try, you are not under the same pressure to get points, and your performance level drops.
Next season we have to do it all again...We could be relegated...We could win the cup...
    We will be ok.

Well, we have won more trophies this season than he has. Just imagine how good Michu would be if he cheated like your beloved Suarez Dai

Dai, I'm cringing for you reading your posts. Suarez has made headlines again for all the wrong reasons and has brought shame to Liverpool FC.

Perhaps now we can get back to the subject of the thread and use the Suarez thread to talk about what that twat has done today

i just sit here and shake my head at the majority of Dai's comments, however life goes on, as mentioned previously, 40 points, safety, lets all switch off, dunno if that is what has happened but surely it cannot be physical fatigue unless the fitness coach is a moron.

So fed up of trying to read a thread and then it getting derailed, its actually pretty annoying. Anyway i really hope we do get some quality extra players in the summer and ship out any that arent really good enough for the prem. Looking back at the Liverpool away game and ML must have had a good idea after that game who is not fit for purpose ( just hope he manages to get the players hes after especially if theyre going to be the quality of Michu, Chico etc ).

    Off thread reply again Dai.

It can`t be physical fatigue, we are only playing one game a week now, unless the players are really unfit? The mental block of reaching 40 points and safety is a real bummer for the fans, get stuck in and play for the points. Although having said that, I and a lot of others would have settled for safety again this season. Let`s finish with a bang, not a whimper.

I'm not worried at all, imo ML is using this time to experiment with the team.

Over the last few games I've noticed we've changed our style.

Our wingers are attacking the flanks more and not cutting-in at any given chance. Another is whoever our AM is appears to be 'dropping off' so remaining deeper in the pocket. Because of this the AM, currently Michu, is not getting as many opportunities to attack the box as he has all season. It seems ML is trying us out, playing as if we had a threat up front, unfortunately its not Moore, but ML is looking to see what he needs, or maybe already has someone and he's getting us to think about a different 'Swansea way'.

Our defense has changed too. Rangel and Davies are playing more in tandem, one up one lurking halfway, and neither are bombing up field all the time. Chico, who was excellent on Saturday, and Ash are playing more long balls and even Vorm is kicking more out of hand.

ML appears to be studying us, changing our style and intent to try to tease out the gaps he currently has and get us to think differently. If he is then doing this will at least give him a better understanding of what pieces he needs to add to his jig-saw. Also, next year ML has said that he want's us to play with 'different faces' depending on our opposition.

Anyhoo, that's what I thinks happening and because of this I have absolutely no concerns about our current form.

From some of the comments I see that scouser dai has been puking on our board again. Put him on ignore, I have, then we can talk more about the MIGHTY SWANS and he can talk to himself. <ok>
