Great news. Brilliant at the end of the season and his experience could be vital in the championship.
Definately good news, might not be on the pitch a lot of the time but his experience will count for a lot in the championship.
I thought at 4.40 I would be the first, but no..what a bunch of night owls. Good news. Connolly looked class at the end of the season and was very important to us when we began to run out of strikers. Without him stepping up to the plate, we could have been in the horror of the play-offs. He earnt his contract and probably has an automatic extension if he plays enough games. Great news and glad to get it sorted early.

The only reason for the 11:30 announcements is so that the Echo won't have the story in time for their first printed editions in the morning. All part of the on-going spat between the two.
I appreciate the pure petulance of that, brilliant! Still not sure that giving Connolly another deal is the right thing. Firstly, he's still seems to be injured most of the time. Secondly, while he did do OK towards the end of the season (when he was playing for a contract), up until that point his contribution had been the square root of nothing. Also don't think he'll be able to have the same impact next year at a higher level. I'd prefer to see another striker brought in over the summer and possibly one of the young lads get blooded next season.
Don't think we currently have a youth team/u21/reserve/development striker that looks capable of breaking through. Ryan Doble is the oldest and he didn't exactly rip up trees when on loan at Oxford & Stockport. Signing up Connolly, certainly doesn't prevent Adkins getting in another striker in the summer. For a start, there are still big unknowns about Lee Barnard's availability.
I don't think it's fair to judge Doble on his loan spells there, as he only got 20min sub appearences here and there, plus got sent off and injured so he had 2 very disruptiuve loan spells Back on topic, I have mixed feelings on the new deal. This is the 2nd season he's missed most of it, come back for last few games to make a contribution and a new contract. If he can keep fit, good but I doubt it personally.
Top news, he is a very intelligent player. Plenty of time but we still need to get another striker in though.
